Miller, Przybilla, Fernandez, and Bayless to San Antonio for... Parker and McDyess (kidding, but would you do it?)
Sure why not? It's not like the Blazers have a chance in hell of winning a title as it stands now. Might as well go out in a shower of sparks.
No doubt. Many of them from you. And even though I suspected it was total BS, you still had my hopes up for a few seconds.
PS: I'm sitting here enjoying burgers (cooked on my gas grill, no less ) with BLAZER PROPHET and he egged me on to post this ridiculous thread.
Well with the Blazers imminent signing of Wes Matthews to a 5 year 25 million dollar offer sheet maybe there is a trade in the works -- like a sign and trade for Matthews where Rudy goes back to the Jizz?
Sigh..... I wish people weren't so bored that they have to create threads like this. Where is Mixum and PapaG when you need em?
Highly doubt were making a trade without an official GM. We might be having trade conversations but nothing will happen until we see a GM signed.
You lie like a dog. And even after I helped you take that huge TV to the Goodwill. That said, if given the chance, I would have egged you on.
I jest about Rudy being used in a sign and trade here (he'll be used somewhere else). But even though you're joking (?) I actually I think you're half right. If they get Matthews I'm guessing they think he and Babbitt can split time at the 3 and provide adequate production and his acquisition means giving up Nic as part of a trade for Paul won't mean we're relying on an untested rookie to fill the minutes at the three. Even if the Paul trade is just a pipe dream, if nothing else it means that they will have a surplus of attractive pieces that can be cobbled together in an effort to get a trade done for some high quality player.
Yeah, I was kidding that every move points to getting Paul. I think acquiring Paul is a pipe dream simply because I can't bring myself to believe that such a great player could be dealt. But IF a Paul trade were going to happen, the types of moves Portland is doing right now would be consistent with preparing for that. So, that's something, I guess.
I bet they would jump at the opportunity of making a trade without a GM. In their eyes it would make a point. That point being that it isn't/hasn't been about one guy in the Blazer front office this whole time. It has been a team effort. (not saying it is true, just that they would like us to think that) So if there is an opportunity they will take it. I just am not sure there will be an opportunity to make that "big" trade.
