http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives...back_to_jersey/ Who would they trade for Martin? My guess is nobody Denver wants in return. Antoine Wright could be in the mix.
If we were to get him back it would have to be by way of a buy out with Denver, in which case, we should sign him to the full MLE if he becomes avaible. That is, however, unlikely, and unless Denver wanted a salary dump trade taking in expiring contracts from NJ, I dont think we can trade for him. I wouldnt want to trade Kidd, Carter, Jefferson or Krstic for him, but if he becomes avaible and they chose to accept a package of bench players with expiring contracts, I would love to see that happen although it would be costly..Imagine this lineup:KiddCarterJeffersonMartinKrsticWOW
If you were a Net fan 4-5 years ago...you loved K-Mart and still do. I would give up ANYTHING on our team but the big 4. Considering Denver wants him out bad...we could give them 2 picks and a bunch of role players in return.

I think we have a better chance at getting him in a trade because they would want a pick or both. Im sure one of the 29 other teams in th league would take a chance on him, so a buyout is not likey.
I did love Kenyon Martin, but after watching him give the Nuggets very little for his contract in 2005-2006, I have to wonder if that knee injury is gonna linger his whole career? If so, do we really want to add a 30 million dollar contract or even a 70 million dollar contract if we can come up with a good trade package?I think really wants to come back and if he becomes a free agent, I would love for him to be back here. I just wonder how he'll react to Lawrence Frank cus even tho they co-existed a few years ago when he was here, he's a completely different coach now. After his tirade against George Karl, it should be a mild concern. Also consider that George Karl is a great coach, who hasn't had a losing season in over a decade.
K-Mart will be like the old Kenyon if he comes back. It was Kidd who gave him all those shots and he scored a lot. Jkidd will give him the same shots like he had before and he will be the old kmart. Yes injury will be a concern but I think he just wasnt happy in Denver and didnt try.
I think if Kmart comes back to Jersey he'll be reenergized by the crowd and the support for him and the Nets.. The Ken-yon Mar-tin chants..I think he would want to prove Denver wrong and show them they made a mistake and provide exactly what we need for this team..
Do you know how much the ticket sales went down after he left. Everyone loved him. All the signs "K-Marts Crew" Man brings back memerios.
Everytime I pass that arena, to this day those chants ring in my ears...If he were to come back it would be amazing..
If he comes back...Idk what I would do lol. Il buy tickets and we will go to the game togther :winkglasses:
I would go to the opener, the crowd would go crazy if they announce his name..What a team that would be...damnnn
Come on, don't blame attendance on Kenyon Martin's departure. Attendance was poor before Martin's departure anyway. Their real reason for poor ticket sales was because Vaughn, Mercer and Eric Williams were new starters in 2004.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Jkidd51524 @ May 22 2006, 05:53 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>If he comes back...Idk what I would do lol. You would come with us too ace lol. And a big part of the ticket sales going down was Martin, and yes, the ticket sales were bad before that anyway
oh man i would love it if he came back. the ferocious dunks, alley oops. remember in the finals against the spurs the fans were chanting M-V-P! bring back kmart!
