Another answer: just re-read this thread objectively and see who's getting their panties in a wad. THOSE are the people who, I believe, overvalue KP's capabilities. Ed O.
Sine this is directed towards me, all I have to say is with that said, you admitted you'd still take KP over the other two mentioned in this thread. Overvaluing, or just correct that KP is arguably the best GM candidate out there?
Like who? Like who? Notice you've gone from "think he's head and shoulders above other GM's" to "Overvalue his capabilities" Backtrack much?
i think anyone who is concerned about who EdO was talking about, are probably the ones who EdO was talking about.
Shaq is a 7 footer. Shaq is tall. Is that backtracking? I'm amazed at where your "logic" leads you sometimes. Ed O.
No he specifically said those that think he is "head and shoulders above every other GM" Just wondering who said that. He started a thread aimed at these guys. I'd like to meet them.
I wish I could tell you I was amazed that you played the tedious semantics card. But it's pretty much par for the course. BTW shaq being a 7 footer and tall are both facts. Claiming there's a legion of fans on here who said Pritchard is head and shoulders above every other GM and was only let go for dubious reasons is in a word bullshit.
The key word there is "available". Available candidates fall into two categories: unproven and already fired by another team. It is quite possible for a reasonable person to arrive at the conclusion that KP *is* better than the alternatives. Is that overvaluing KP? Maybe......but even as a frequent KP critic, I am unimpressed with the available options.
Wait, you're tweaking those who say KP is head and shoulders above other GMs? I think he is head and shoulders above others. Not ALL. But others.
Do you think that KP is not making himself available for the NJ gig, or do you think that the Nets are making a mistake by not hiring him? Ed O.
As I said, I am begining to suspect that his severance agreement contains a "no compete" clause. A one year vacation on PA's money, and he will still be able to get a job after the lock-out is resolved. With no one knowing for sure what the new CBA is going to look like, the next 12 months for GMs is going to be like tap-dancing in a mine-field anyway.
Overvaluing Pritchard is one thing, but what you said in your OP was something completely different. Care to revise the OP, or is this your retraction?
As I said, I can say someone is a 7 footer, and then I can say that same person is tall. Those things are not inconsistent. Everyone who is a 7 footer is tall, but not everyone that is tall is a 7 footer. You guys really need to think before you post if you're going to try to find inconsistencies in my posts. Ed O.
In other, entirely fabricated and inconsistent with reality words. Sure. Why on earth would I admit that? At least two people in this thread have been unable or unwilling to name a single available GM that is equal to or superior to KP. That reinforces to me that some posters here think that KP is head and shoulders above (meaning: superior to) the other GMs that are being discussed, including the two that the Nets have reportedly targeted as finalists. Ed O.
