If we dont get LeBron, was it worth it in letting Gordon go?

I would assume that Gordon, when healthy or still with the Bulls, would have produced pretty much like his last season with us. He did for several seasons before that...

I don't pine for him back, I just really regret that we let him walk for nothing and we ended up with nobody close to being able to replace him. If you think Pargo or Flip Murray were adequate replacements, feel free to make that case, but I don't see it.

However, we do have a big hole at SG. While someone is going to play that position, it remains to be seen if we are better off playing a couple of end of the bench players from teams better than the Bulls have been. If I were LeBron looking at the Bulls roster, I'd be thinking, "Rose gives me a sidekick who won't disappear in the playoffs. Deng is redundant, because he plays MY position. There's no 3pt shooting on this team worth starting and playing big minutes. (and it would suck to play for Reinsdorf)."

If Gordon was bad for the team because he was some sort of defensive liability, wait until we see the big/old/slow Korver trying to stick with quality SGs. Oddly, I find that the Steve Kerr analogy fits Redick a lot better. It's going to be great watching him try and stick SGs, too.

Redick and BG are both very similar to Kerr. That's the point. BG scored a little more while he was the focus of the offense, but those days are over and there isn't much difference between Redick and BG other than Redick is better defensively and will cost $4 mil less. BG wouldn't be the offense anymore, wouldn't be the guy to take the last shot, and would be a lot more like he was in Detroit last year. That's why letting him go was the right decision.
