One team showing some interest in Shaquille O'Neal because of a need for a backup center? The Atlanta Hawks. But according to David Aldridge of NBA.com, since the Hawks spent so much on Joe Johnson, ownership is unlikely to approve the acquisition of a backup center for much more than a veteran's minimum salary. And that's where the Cavs come in. Aldridge reports the Cavs are interested in Atlanta swingman Marvin Williams and thus are trying to convince the Hawks to do a sign-and-trade for Shaq that would net them Williams in return. Williams would be a piece the Cavs could use to run with, a style of play that fits new coach Byron Scott's offensive philosophy. Source: NBA.com
