In honor of the double header of Game 7's tonight, I was wondering what you guys would say to this question. As a Laker fan, I'm really tempted to put in my top 3 the Game 7 in the 2000 WCF against Portland, where LA came back from a 15 point 4th quarter deficit to win, and the Game 7 in the 2002 WCF against Sacramento in Arco that went to OT. Other than that I'd have to say Game 7 of the 95 Semi Finals, Rockets beating the suns 115-114, that came down to a last second three that Hakeem blocked. There was also Game 7 in the 69 finals where Boston overcame the odds to beat the Lakers on their home floor. What're your top 3 Game 7's?

I got to go with the ECSF game between Toronto and Philly in '01. Vince Carter missed a last second buzzer beater to win the game, final 88-87. This was the best game to watch. Just to see a young Carter go up against a powerhouse like Philly with A.I. It was just something special to watch. I know this isn't a top 3 but I just thought nothing could beat this game 7, it's the best I've ever watched.

1970 NBA Finals Knicks vs Lakers. It wasnt a close win by the Knicks, but what made me say this here is because Willis Reed returned to the Knicks to play in Game 7, after an injury that should have made him sit out for a month. He only scored 2 pts I think, but his return to the team/leadership is what inspired the Knicks to come back and finish off the Lakers. Not to mention Walt Frazier had a monster game, Ballah posted the statline somewhere in one of his articles. I know this doesnt crack top 5 at all, I'm just throwing it out there.

I saw so many great Laker games on ESPN Classic on December 24, 2004 the day before the first Shaq-Kobe reunion. I definitely say, the Portland vs LA one, the Kings vs. LA one in 02, and the Game 7 last year, Spurs vs. Pistons to win it all. Very close game in the end, actually.

I'd put Spurs/Mavs this year's game 7 in the discussion.

Well the thing is no one can really accurately talk about this cause no one here has seen all the game 7s, let alone half of them

Last night's Game 7 was great, also can't forget the last two Mavs Game 7's against Rockets(40 point blowout) and the one against the Kings in 02/03(Nick and Dirk show).

Ballorama has got my list exactly. To think, if lebron had continued to drive #6 on here would be pistons vs cavs.

The Lakers and Kings game 7 a few years back was legendary. I could watch that game 5 times in a row and not get bored. It was that damn good

I'll go with Blazers vs Lakers, and Kings vs Lakers. They were both great games, also the Spurs, Mavs one was pretty good.

Re: Best Game 7's of all time?

Portland and San Antonio in the 1990 Semifinals had a Game 7 go to Overtime with the Blazers winning 108-105. In 88 there were two close Game 7's, The Celtics beat the Hawks 118-116 in the Semis and in the Finals the Lakers beat the Pistons to complete the repeat, 108-105.

I liked the Eastern Conference Final between the Bulls and the Pacers in 1998. I thought that was a great series. It was the first time Jordans Bulls ever had been taken to 7 games in a series.
