Celtics center Kendrick Perkins underwent successful surgery Monday to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

He suffered the injury in Game 6 of the NBA Finals against the Lakers.

Perkins officially underwent arthroscopic knee ligament reconstruction with meniscal repair at the New England Baptist Hospital in Boston.

No official timetable was provided, but Perkins said he expected to miss five to six months.
