Personally I dont think he is as good as Hinrich, he is more athletic. He wont hurt us. Hope we get a back up for him! Murray would fine, imo. Probably will be Bogans.
We have 3 of the top 6 or 7 players from Jazz teams that won 48 and 54 games two and three years ago. Could be worse.
I think that is debatable. Regardless, Brewer and Korver combined will make making the same $$ that Kirk was getting. Although we have them signed an extra year.
Swirsky had this to say: I have so much respect for the Utah system...getting 3 players from their team is a huge plus. Jerry Sloan players know how to play-period http://twitter.com/swirsk054
It's not like they overpaid for brewer, but if you think Hinrich was bad offensively, brewer is worse. He scores of of cuts. No outside shot. But hopefully his d is comparable.
Brewer is younger and has played bigger minutes on teams that were just as good. I also think he is a better matchup against Wade and the Heat.
The difference between those teams and the Bulls is that Utah had Deron Williams and Mehmet Okur to also spread the floor besides Korver. If you look at the "Potential" starting lineup for the Bulls, Noah/Boozer/Deng/Brewer/Rose...all of these players make a living within 15-17 feet. Sure Deng can knock down an occasional 3pt shot but the guy isn't going to do it exclusively and still be an effective player. The flaw Utah had w/ those teams was that they couldn't knock down the valued 3 point shot consistently and Korver doesn't play good enough defense to step in and play big minutes effectively. Derrick Rose isn't quite as good as Deron Williams yet either, but Bulls are making good signings IMO.
Well, there wasn't much else left, was there? I was in the camp that we were better off trying to leverage our cap space in a trade to land one other major piece, instead of signing up a bunch of mediocre guys, but Brewer and Korver fit, and their contracts are okay. Even though its deeply ironic, I wonder if the Pistons would consider trading Ben Gordon back to us. A Brewer/Gordon backcourt would suit this team pretty well. The only problem would be that Gordon mostly likes to shoot off the dribble, which may not work as well for this team now as it did before.
I am for a trade as well, but I dont think it is going to happen now, not until the deadline imo. Many fans want Gordon back. I do too.
he turned down an offer from the celtics! A source close to Brewer said the opportunity to start at shooting guard appealed to him, which is why he turned down an offer from the defending Eastern Conference champion Boston Celtics. "This is a great opportunity for him," said Henry Thomas, his Chicago-based representative. "He can help them at both ends." http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/07/bulls-agree-to-deal-with-free-agent-guard-brewer.html

I like Noah better than Okur to play next to Boozer due to D but am worried about the 3pt shooting and the general upside of the team.
