Has Cho ever played any basketball that didn't involve a rule that they had to pass to the asian kid before shooting or the shot won't count?
Has he ever had any basketball coaching, managerial or playing experience whatsoever? Shit, we might as well hire the #1 fantasy hoops player in the nation then. He's a good lawyer and number cruncher. Great. Assistant GM. Not the head honcho, you need someone who can handle the big deals and knows about the game of basketball.
It'd be great if we were a shitty franchise and we could gamble our players away. But we are on the brink of being a contender and you want to hire someone to tweak the team with little to no known actual hands-on basketball experience?
Daryl Morey had never coached or played major organized basketball. His degree was in computer science and statistics. Almost an Asian himself. He's currently considered one of the best GMs in the game. I realize it would be better to have a jock like Isiah Thomas as GM, but that isn't always a possibility.
THIS (not your racist stuff though) It's fucking laughable they're looking at a guy almost exactly like Pritchard/Penn to finish this team off. It's an absolute fucking joke. What are the big BIG trades OKC has made? How many playoff series have they won? How many times have they finished above Portland in the standings? Congrats Presti and Cho for sitting there while we gambled on Oden while Durant fell into your laps. YOU'RE HIRED!!!!!!
I agree with this guy. We should hire Cho because Darryl Morley beat us in the playoffs and made a trade once.
I thought Portland was going after big name, experianced GM's. Cho may very well end up being quite good but the fact is he doesn't fit the teams original criteria. Which means if Cho is hired, that the canidates who did meet that criteria turned the job down.
