Yea its pretty ironic, everyone whining and calling Rudy a bitch like a bunch of five year old's who didn't get what they wanted for Christmas.

Rudy should have never been brought over here with the pretense of being Roy's right hand man. He should have be told all we were gonna use him for was bombing three's in a stale offense

I have no problems with Rudy having preferences - and I actually would love the team to try and help him if they can - he did give up a lot of money to come play here.

With that said - if the team does not like the deals offered from these preferred targets - I have no problems with them saying no.

I think Rudy and his agent are trying to get Portland to buy him out. I think ideally he wants to go to Europe, but can't play for FIBA if he is still under contract. I think he is trying to make life as miserable as possible for the team so they just waive him

Ha--you think he wants us to buy him out? If anything, it ought to be the reverse.

I have been cursing Rudy since last year. Its hardly like I needed this to prod me to do more so. Rudy tanked in the playoffs in order to try and force this IMO, worse than Lebron IMO, because Rudy quit before the game even started. At least Lebron waited until his team was beat to quit.

I don't consider myself very fickle. Rudy wore me down last season over time. I really liked him his rookie year. By the time of this year's playoffs I was cursing his play. It was awful. So bad, I don't really want him on the team anymore.

I suspect he was sandbagging. Some of the worst "defense" I have ever seen, and the most insane shot selection. If he had looked like he was trying hard, and failed? That is one thing. But, he sucked, and it looked like he wasn't trying very hard NOT to suck.

No, I think the lack of Rudy love on the board is not as much from some recent internet tweets, as it is Rudy himself played his was OUT of Blazer fans hearts.

I don't think I could express the way I feel about him any better than this.

There's no way the team should have to buy him out. If anything, as a last resort, we would let him out of his contract and he would leave for Europe. There's no way we are paying him to play somewhere else. No way.

so it's a tweet from the Knicks version of Quick... and I'm supposed to accept this sort of dubious source's spewings as fact???

it seems to me posters are looking for any excuse to freak out and pile on whoever we are scapegoating this month. Rudy played poorly last season and I'm hardly joined at the hip to him remaining a Blazer, but I'm not accepting NY crapola as the bible truth nor should any reasonable person be expected to. If someone wants to do the :NOTMARIS: dance over tabloid nonsense go for it, but don't expect the rest of us to play along like you're grounded in reality. This may or may not be an actual list that Rudy has made, but it's hardly going to make or break the team's season next year.

I am disappointed with the way Rudy played last year, and although I attribute part of it to injury and part of it to how he was used, the bottom line is he didn't get the job done.

I don't blame him for wanting a change of scenery, but I'm not inclined (as the sole master of all Blazers moves) to help him out unless it clearly helps the Blazers.

Right now, he's a very very good third string shooting guard. In case of an injury or two he could step in and possibly step up. While he lacks the upside we all saw in him a couple of years ago, he still is young enough that it might "click". Probably not in the NBA, but maybe.

In the mean time, I am not going to be mad or upset or even disappointed. I, as a fan, lose some and I win some and if he's a loser then I'll keep my fingers crossed we replace him with a winner sometime soon.

With the addition of Boozer I wonder what it would take to get Taj Gibson?

    Rudy + ?

Couldn't the Blazers just let Rudy play in Europe and still maintain his rights, like the Hawks were able to do with Josh Childress? Between his play last season and the bullshit he's pulling now he's not going to bring back much value in return. Maybe if he shines in Europe again for the next couple of years his value will go up. At that point, he'd need to go through us if he wanted to return to the NBA. Then he can play for a team of OUR choosing.

Huh? Somebody said the tweet came from some "anonymous" source, I merely clarified that it was written by Frank Isola, an actual credentialed reporter ... and you got all of that out of something that benign. Who's :NOTMARIS: now?

As a homicide detective for the Walla Walla police department, I now have enough circumstantial evidence to convict Rudolph Fernandez of being a prima donna. Despite numerous posters attempting to give Fernandez a reach around, the evidence is insurmountable. Case closed.

His contract would have to run out and the Blazers would have to make a qualifying offer. Childress left the qualifying offer on the table and went to Europe. The Hawks still maintained his rights with the NBA, but he was free to play overseas. We have two more years of Rudy before that could happen.
