Jordan had a 48 inch vert.

I thought Jordan had a 48" vert? I was dazzled by that number as well. I'm stoked about Williams thought he was a real sleeper in the draft. We'll see though, NBA time now and all. I think it would be a mistake to trade him as a throw in unless it put a deal for CP3 or that tier over the top. Certainly it wouldn't be worth trading him for a middling player unless he was the centerpiece. I think this kid might have some serious game.

I think David Thompson had that kind of vertical leaping ability, but it could have just been cocaine-induced.

Man if only Randy Moss had played in the NBA a freaking 53" vertical holy crap! Why can't they disolve the NFL, steal their salary cap/contract model and all their players who clearly need to become LeBron 2.0?

Interesting he is a combo guard as well, because with it even being rare for a vertical that high, it is even rarer for your PG to be the guy who has that capability.

I think Bayless may be more of a PG than Williams (not saying much), but I'm still glad he is on the team. Should provide from some fun highlights if nothing else.

I remember that Jordan had the second-highest vertical in the White Sox organization (tied for second with Frank whatsisname, the slugger. The highest was a guy in their farm team system).

So there we have it folks. The solution to talent dillution is dissolving the NFL AND MLB.

You're all forgetting my hero Spud Webb! 65 inches tall, 46 inch vertical leap. The hoop is, what, 10 feet? He's 5'5" and could dunk. His running leap must be even higher than Randy Moss (53")

You're forgetting to factor in the fact that Spud Webb had arms.

This is crazy. I hope we get to see him play and don't trade him.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Frank Thomas had a vertical equal to Jordan's?? What a freak of nature.

From the clips I've seen of him on youtube (which are really just dunk reels) he does get up ... Athletic ability aside, I just really want to see him in game action, I guess we have to wait until pre-season.

I think Portland tested Nate Robinson at 48"+ before he was drafted.

LMAO there is no way Frank Thomas jumped higher than MJ. Dude is fucking huge man, and MJ was a pro-basketball player; not even at the end of his carer?!?! Won two championships after.

Some of ya'll need to get your facts straight ahah.

And anyone know that dude on the Bucks, Alexander, what his vert is? Also, I bet LeBron has a massive vert, but never really shows or talks about it.

You boys are silly... every player has arms. I know the NBA is ADA friendly but I think it would be tough for LeBron, Kobe, or even MJ to make a shot if they had no arms.

Although the Caption Hook thingy would be helpful on defense I suppose... except for the risk of popping the ball everytime they went up for a block.

P.S. Cake and GODunk... bite me!
