While Brewer and Korver help fill the void after the trade of Kirk Hinrich -- Brewer is an athletic player known for his defense, while Korver is one of the top three-point shooters in the league -- the Bulls might not be done acquiring shooting-guard candidates. They still have room under the salary cap, and NBA sources said the Bulls have had discussions with representatives for Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and even Tracy McGrady. McGrady is the biggest name of the group, but Howard might be the most intriguing. He's a starting-quality swingman and would have drawn much interest this summer if not for a knee injury he suffered in February while playing for the Washington Wizards against the Bulls. Howard probably won't be ready to start the season this fall, but he might be worth a gamble if the price is right. The Bulls can afford to wait for him to get healthy. Once they've shifted their attention from guards, they probably will try to re-sign a couple of their own free agents, specifically backup center Brad Miller. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/basketball/bulls/2505422,CST-SPT-bull17.article
Re: Jackson: Bulls have talked to, Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and McGr that is the second or third time I have seen Howard and McGrady being mentioned with the Bulls! First time I have seen Butler and Brown mentioned. Brown is close to being resigned with the Lakers.
Re: Jackson: Bulls have talked to, Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and McGr McGrady please! Hes one of my favorite players. Bosh and Vince Carter are my other non-Bulls.
Re: Jackson: Bulls have talked to, Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and McGr I like the idea of taking a shot on Howard. He's not so young anymore, but if he's cheaper than Deng then we can ship Deng out and improve our profits! My bad, did I say "our" profits? LOL. JR doesn't share those, even with the players.
Re: Jackson: Bulls have talked to, Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and McGr Josh Howard is an intriguing idea. He made an all-star game 2 years ago, didn't he? The other guys on that list can go fly a kite as far as I'm concerned. A bunch of really crappy players don't add up arithmetically to create a decent one.
Re: Jackson: Bulls have talked to, Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and McGr Haven't the Bulls already not given Shannon Brown any playing time?
Re: Jackson: Bulls have talked to, Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and McGr Josh Howard has had ankle injuries that have kept him out a majority of the last 2 years and then after Dallas shipped him to Wizards, he tore his ACL after a good stretch of b-ball he was playing. I think Rasual Butler would be a nice catch and shoot guy that can D up that plugs in perfectly w/ the Bulls current make-up.
Re: Jackson: Bulls have talked to, Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and McGr Howard or Butler would b fine. However, I am intrigued with McGrady. I know he has sucked the last couple of years, but if he comes here, knowing he will be a back up, knowing if he can play anywhere near what he used to do, then it can be advantageous for him. I know he has been hurt a lot! I wonder how much game he has really lost. Anyway, McGrady would be a close 3rd. I dont see the Bulls signing him.
Re: Jackson: Bulls have talked to, Josh Howard, Shannon Brown, Rasual Butler and McGr Either TMac or Howard would be worth taking a flier on at the right price, but I see the most likely outcome as paying them to sit on the bench and claim they're almost healthy enough to come back and derserve to start immediately.
