Dampier did a decent job on Duncan and was the only one that could matchup with Duncan. With Van Horn you are forced to double team which allows open 3's. Van Horn didn't play any real minutes til game 7 which happens to be Duncans best game. Dampier dominates the boards and wore Duncan down by his power.

Now i'm not trying to bring down Damp's play, but i'm just trying to show you that KVH didnt play too bad agiainst Duncan. We outrebounded the Spurs in EVERY game in the series. We had to double team Duncan when KVH was in the game? If you couldnt tell, that was the strategy Avery was using when Diop, Damp and Dirk were gaurding Duncan. Did you see anyone make a outside shot on a consistent basis in the series? They only made 30 out of 88 attempts in the series. Thats 34%. Not a staggering number that killed us.
Dallas didn't double team that often. If they did I get pissed because that is wasting Dampier's defense. Also you don't realize how well Dampier helps the mavs offense on little things. Outlet passes and setting picks. Those are the things Van Horn doesn't do. Dampier had to play against one of the top rebounders in the league in Duncan so no surprise his numbers are slightly down. To me it is a no brainer that Dampier out there is better than Van Horn. Diop occassionally does well on defense as well. Small ball doesn't work against San Antonio but it caught them off guard in the first half.
This should be a great series! Good coaching match-up, great team match-up, the Nowitzki-Nash gay love affair! I love this! I think the Mavs got this in 7 because of their home court but I am really optomistic of our chances. The Suns have been very surprising and gotten past every obstacle in their way so far. Pretty soon we will be hating each other. The Clippers defense was atrocious and I think the mavs will be different since they got more foot speed. The suns did have trouble with the Clippers offense but the Clippers had a miserable time with the suns speed.

I am glad the Spurs got eliminated. I can't stand them (especially Ginobili, Parker and Duncan). And i think the Mavs are better than the Suns. My prediction: 4-2 Dallas. Then the Mavs will lose in the Finals (Pistons will beat'em).
It's the truth you foool, but I still love you all for now. I'll be happy with whatever the Suns do since the have been such a surprise this season for me. I'm proud of what they've done and if they lose I know they'll be back next year with a healthy team. Mavs in 6.I just think there is something special about THIS Mavs team. They just have something going on.Plus I beleive they are the deeper and more talented, overall team.I don't think the Nash/Bell can stop or out play the combo of Terry/Harris.I think that while Marion can give Dirk some trouble, but I don't think he'll be as close as Bowen to shutting him down, which he didn't, lol.I do believe the Suns win one in DAllas, and one at home, giving them 2 wins, but the Mavs finish it up in Game 6 at home.
Oh the Suns backcourt will definetly outplay Dallas'. I think Raja will do a tremendous job against Terry. Whoever plays against Nash though will have the best games of his career though, lol. I think Phoenix will have a good match up against Dallas but hmmm NONO its not the year of the SUNS its the MAVS year to shine well as what I have observed the German Sensation is doin all he can together with his suporting cast there's no way the SUNS can beat them... and well i think Dallas is title hungry too... I am rooting for a PISTONS vs MAVS Finale
Bell and Marion are the reasons why Dallas will have problems. Both are great defenders and will bother 2 of the 3 top mavs players. Either Howard or Terry got to take advantage of the suns weaker defender. Probably Howard.
