I highly doubt "Hat Guy" is the only guy working out w/ Greg. If its even true. I've heard our asst. coaches and trainers all say in various interviews that they have been working out with Greg this offseason.

Steve Gordon is hat guy, and he is a former trainer of some sorts from the Sonics. it's not like he wouldn't know what the hell he is doing. This really isn't bad news at all

I think someone that has been around NBA players almost all year for the last 20 years would know some things. So ya I agree.

You gotta keep up, man! :)

"Hat Guy" is Steve Gordon, apparently Paul Allen's most trusted advisor. According to those in the know (or at the very least, those who claim to be in the know), "Hat Guy" is one of the most powerful people in the Blazers organization. Born & Buchanan are allegedly currently reporting to him. Supposedly he helped Paul regain his health after his first bout with chemo.

    Hat Guy is the man.

If this guy has really got a lot of power in the Blazer's organization, I thought maybe we should get to know more about him. Here is the best I could find: http://community.seattletimes.nwsource.com/archive/?date=19950723&slug=2132925

He's called a "Gym-rat legend", apparently lost his first wife because he was too involved with his work, worked off and on with the Sonics, maybe helped jack Sikma develop a stepback move, did some rehab work with Paul Westphal, tried professional baseball, signed a letter of intent for basketball at DePaul but didn't play, was bullpen catcher for Mariners for seven years. A lot of personal stuff in the article, nothing really that i saw that would make one think he would be an expert at improving the game of professional basketball players, but maybe some guys just develop the knack by watching.

No, he was the "I guarantee Aldridge won't extend before the beginning of the season" guy from last summer. I think he was also the "KP hates power forwards" guy. :dunno:

So, if Bill Bayno' nickname was "the drunken cowboy", would people freak out? Yeah, probably. "WHAT? TEH DRUNKEN COWBOY IS WORKING OUT WITH TEH OEDN!? TYPICAL BLAZER!"

But since we know his name, we don't have mental midgets freaking out.

He's also the guy that welched on his bet with SlyPokerDog on the LA signing.

I also think he's the same poster as one currently on sabatical.

Actually he is back! Been posting over at O-live. Sent me a really nice email a few days ago apologizing for not making good on our bet and says he'll come to Portland this next season and he'll pay up then.
