I think that after all this activity, they need some time off, maybe go to a picnic or something.

HCP do you really think we're going into training camp with seven guards?

    Roy
    Miller
    Rudy
    Williams
    Matthews
    Bayless
    Johnson
    Mills

Yeah, Johnson and Mills aren't under contract, but I think we're going to hold onto one or both of them, seeing as Bayless and Williams aren't really point guards.

I honestly think Bayless is going nowhere. He is our backup SG. You can't get anything back for Rudy because he makes so little. Unless a big 3 for 1 type thing. I'm hearing that Nate and the staff are really high on Matthews. I don't really think the rookies have any impact this year whatsoever. I think Armon has impressed, but do you really see him on the court this year? NBDL is calling. Bye Bye Patty!

Do you think Bayless is better than Matthews? Matthews should be our backup SG and SF. Package Rudy and Bayless and maybe someone else for something. And I think Johnson would be a better backup PG than Bayless.

Yes. If you combined the 2 players he would be perfect! Bayless is an offensive minded balls out player. Matthews more defensive minded. We need both, but doesn't everybody on here complain about us NOT scoring and getting the ball up and down the court? Wes is 6'5", he is NOT a SF!

I think that by having Wes at SF it gives Nate a lot of options. I hate the fact, but it is a fact, that Nate is a matchup coach. The best thing you can do for your matchup coaches is give them options. By having Wes, Batum and Babbit, you have options. Last year with all the injuries and certain players playing like shit, Nate didn't have a lot of options. Now he does.

Sorry, but depth can breed discontent. Especially young depth. It's extremely hard to get people to buy into, and Nate was starting to lose control last season until the plague put us in the lurch.

We definitely need a consolidation trade at this point. How that looks is anyone's guess. Seems to me we need another back up 4/5 and of course the ever elusive PGOTF!

I agree with you. We either need veterans who are on the downslope like Prince that I believed you advocated for in another thread or youngsters who have accepted a role player attitude. One exception would be PG where I think youth is an asset.

Which is why I say you want 7 to 8 good players with some versatile guys who can play multiple positions well, and the rest of the guys are just happy to be in the league. That is how you make a happy team. As opposed to having a spanish guard who plays no positions well, and just bitches all the time, without taking a break from it.

Matchup Coach, my a$$. In the playoffs in Phoenix, they put Nash on Batum. Instead of going to Batum, we struggled. Against Phoenix, we should go straight at Nash, he's really terrible at D. Argggh.

"Thanks for bringing up such a painful memory, next time why don't you just give me a paper cut and pour lemon juice in it, We're Closed!"

Cho said that we are still "one or two pieces away" from competing for a championship. So, to answer the OP, more trades are apparently up next.

I am so happy we have someone who isn't so attached to his guys.

He also basically said he isn't going to trade just to trade and make moves.

Which is the oldest cliche in the book. It's a throw away quote.

He going to be working hard to upgrade at PG.
