The Bulls have made a habit this summer of adding solid complimentary pieces to play alongside Derrick Rose and company during the upcoming season. They have apparently added yet another solid piece to their revamped team on Monday night in point guard C.J. Watson. Multiple media outlets are reporting that the Bulls have completed a sign and trade with the Warriors that would send Watson to the Bulls for a second-round pick. The organization still has to tie up some loose ends before officially announcing the deal, but if it goes down, Watson would fill one of the last remaining holes on the roster as the backup point guard. The 26-year-old averaged 10 points and three assists a game last season and should fit right in with the rest of the Bulls' young core. He should be able to provide a spark off the bench that includes key contributors such as Taj Gibson and the recently acquired Kyle Korver. Not only will Watson provide a stabilizing presence to the second unit, but he could also give the Bulls the second long distance option that they have been searching for. Watson is a career 35-percent shooter from behind the arc and has the ability to get hot in stretches as evidenced by his 40-point explosion during a game last February against the Kings. With Watson in the fold, the only thing pressing need the Bulls must fill now is that of a backup center. Bench is filling out nicely. Bulls should be able to play several different styles. Other nice thing about this signing is the bulls are building up a stockpile of young players with attractive games at reasonably priced contracts that can be mixed and matched and traded for somebody better. If any of these guys has any kind of breakout season, the bulls should be able to make some interesting trades.
