Fortunately we have Batum, so our image with international prospects can't be too bad. The only one looking bad during all this is Rudy.
I do not think Rudy has conducted himself in a respectable way, I really have no problem with your assessment. I just think that nothing will be gained by being vindictive at this point. He wants to go to Europe - you let him go. Look forward, not to the past.
You and I both agree that being vindictive is of no use and the Blazers should just let him go (if no better trade comes). But I don't agree that he has conducted himself in a respectful way. He could have done a lot worse, but going to the press, especially multiple times, is not respectful.
I think GOD has it right. Rudy's not in the best situation, especially now after the Matthews signing. I'm willing to bet some of the times we've heard about him wanting to leave are more based on Spanish media, but from the actual interviews with him, you can tell he doesn't want to be here. I mean if you ask a guy if he wants to be here and his response is, "It's where I'm signed to be." I think that says everything. I wouldn't mind Rudy being unhappy and asking to leave quietly like GOD mentioned, but similar to the LeBron fiasco IMO, it's the way he's going about it that is making me think negative of him more than anything.
Also, FWIW, from realgm... From a guy with one post though, so might just be trying to add fuel to the fire.
Every single link saying this is based on conjecture and eventually leads back to a tabloid in Spain, which supposedly quotes Rudy saying something.
not much... I prefer my news/quotes from a source I've heard of before. An unknown source quoting a spanish tabloid that is known for being wrong leaves me in the same limbo of not really knowing STOMP
Rudy said repeatedly after exit interviews that he was "under contract" when asked if he wanted to come back this fall, he goes back to spain and we see multiple quotes in multiple Spanish magazines and sporting newspapers that he wants a trade or wants to return to Europe, Frank Isola from the New York Daily News writes that Rudy has a list of 5 or 6 NBA teams he's willing to play for ... it keeps going on and on and on. At what point do we acknowledge that there's a pretty good chance Rudy doesn't want to be here?
what he wants doesn't matter that much, he's under contract I don't get why there is a big rush to know if this is real or not... I really don't understand why you give a bleep if I personally don't freak out over someone's tweet or a spanish tabloid report. It's the offseason and between Wes and Bayless they've got their personnel bases pretty covered if he's to leave... whats the issue? Soon enough either someone from the team or Rudy will go in front of a camera and address things and we won't have to be interpreting the tea leaves/dubious sources. I'm sure Rudy and the club already know the real story... we have about 3 1/2 months until the games start and I'm perfectly fine with letting it play out. STOMP
I never expected you to "freak out", you just seem to be dismissing anybody who thinks this story isn't just a bunch of crap stirred up by Spanish sports media. Myself? I'm not freaking out, I just think Rudy is a bitch.
come on now, you can't turn that weak shit on me. I'm very open to this sort of thing turning out to be true and have said so in my last post and most every other one addressing this stuff. What I don't accept is that these sorts of BS leaks mean these are cold hard facts that Rudy wants out... they're not. I know it's too much for some to ask for a reputable source or an actual video quote, but it's something I prefer. It's the speculative part of the year where rumors and misinformation are all about just like every year. If you want to believe these reports as proof, bully for you. I dismiss anyone who says that it's the established truth that we all have to accept, because it's not. It's pretty dubious stuff that you choose to believe. I'm sure the rumors, true or not, will be addressed in short order from sources I respect... maybe even Rudy himself. Regardless of how it turns out, I'm not worried as Portland has their bases covered. STOMP
Then we agree at least in that, Rudy is completely irrelevant and replaceable, and the signing of Matthews confirms that for me.
I never thought I would post this, but would you please stop being reasonable? I thought the same thing when I read the "quote" in the first post, the one without a link, even.
