IMO, it is more interesting to look at his post-All-Star numbers to get a better feel for how he can perform.
I definitely hope we see that lineup for defense. But I hope we don't see that lineup just so we can continually run the 1-4, Roy iso, with Batum and WM standing in the corners. Unfortunately, I believe that is the offense we will run with that lineup.
I am glad this is finally done and now that it is and a GM is in place we can see if there really is a big trade in the works. I think Matthews is a good addition and sure he is overpaid but i like what he brings to the Blazers.
He may get a payout of over $9 mil with his bonus, but he only earns $5.765 next year as far as salary on the books. If you think of him as $9 mil... then in following years you need to think of him as the greatly reduced salary value. He only gets $32.56mil or so for 5 years. He just gets some of it ahead of time. But the point stands.. he is seemingly over paid for what he did his rookie year. Let's hope for the best.
In a Summer where Frye and Darko both got around $30 million, it's tough for me to have an issue with his price tag. I just hope this means less wide open 3's being shot against our D.
He averaged ~30 minutes in April. He didn't play as much in the playoffs because his shoulder was injured, and it showed. Also: http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5396317
Its funny what espn states. Has espn done their research? Webster is gone, Rudy played like crap last year, and Bayless got limited time which affected his scoring. I think Matthews will be more consistent than Webster or Rudy at this point even if hes limited to 25-30 minutes.
he is gonna be our what......... 8th option on the offensive end? What do people realistically expect from this guy. I like the fact that he is a defensive minded player, that's what we need.
Those that are on your side. Do you ever have an original point? You seem like a dullard to me, Sug. Prove me wrong! It would be a first for you.
