The Miami Dolphins elected to bolster their defensive line in the draft's first round, selecting Jared Odrick, who will be competing to start at DE this preseason. In order to have the best chance of making a smooth adjustment to the NFL, Odrick needs to be in camp on time.

According to Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald, things are looking good. A source has told Salguero that the team has already made an offer to Odrick, and won't rely on the slotting system to finalize the numbers. That's a good idea, considering that no other first-rounders have signed yet.

The Fins' first training camp practice is on July 30, and Salguero writes that "there seem to be no out-of-the-ordinary obstacles preventing Odrick's deal from being done" by then.
