If Lakers get Paul you might as well cancel next season.

Maybe you didn't hear, but they already canceled next season. The Heat won.

    You're assuming that CP3 stays healthy ;)

I'd love to get him, but how? Bynum or Odom (or both) would definitely be on the way out if this has any hope at happening.

If you guys get CP3 then we know what two teams will be in the finals for years to come and it would make basketball pretty pointless to watch if your not a miami/lakers fan.

Even if they got Paul, how much longer is the LA window? Kobe aint young, and Gasol is starting to get up there in years too. Pretty soon they would be left with a toothless Kobe, a tired Gasol, and a young Chris Paul. The Heat are all still very very young. LeBron is 25, Wade is 28, and Bosh is 26. They have a huge window, if they can make it work.

We need a heir to Kobe's Throne in LA soon. CP3 or Melo would be my choices! COME ON!

I feel as if he's going to the Magic if it's through trade.

Trade LO+Sasha+Ebanks+future 2nd rd pick for CP3+trade exception.

Lose some length, but c'mon. Best PG in the league?

    PG Chris Paul
    SG Kobe Bryant
    SF Ron Artest
    PF Pau Gasol
    C Andrew Bynum
    6th Man Derek Fisher/TMac/Matt Barnes/Steve Blake

    Really??

The original rumor was Bynum/Odom for Paul/Okafor, but today they were discussing Bynum for Paul straight up. The risk is Paul has a player option and we have to guarantee he'll re-sign with us. The argument for Paul is the Lakers have made it to three straight Finals with Bynum not having a major impact. The downside is we lose our size, Odom moves into the starting lineup and Gasol has to play center during the regular season.

The window is very long. If we can somehow ony lose Odom, Paul and Bynum would kill the league. Alleyoops all day like you saw in 08 with Chandler except Bynum is much more skilled. Even if we have to give up Bynum, we still have Kobe and Gasol who have at least 3 or 4 more years.

Either way Lakers will own the league if they get Paul.
