Updated: Knicks Chris Paul's First Choice UPDATE: ESPN The Magazine's Chris Broussard reports on Thursday that "the New York Knicks are the first team on point guard Chris Paul's wish list of clubs he'd like New Orleans to trade him to, according to sources." A source close to Chris Paul tells Ken Berger of CBSSports.com that the point guard wants to be traded before the beginning of next season. "He wants out," said the source. "He wants to play with another superstar. He wants to follow LeBron James' model of teaming up with other great players." Paul wants to play for the Lakers, Magic or Knicks. "He feels like they haven't put the right pieces together," said the source. Reportedly members of Paul's camp have told people in the NBA that, "he's not going to start the season in New Orleans." The Lakers don't seem to make a lot of sense for Paul. Phil Jackson usually doesn't have dynamic, pick-and-roll point guards in his triangle offense because their style doesn't fit it. The Knicks, of course, provide a tantalizing option for Paul. Big market, with an offense run by Mike D'Antoni that fits his style to a T. Carmelo Anthony could join next season and they'd have their own Big Three along with Amare Stoudemire. The Magic might give Paul the best chance to immediately win, as they made the Eastern Conference Finals last season, and the Finals the season before.
Re: Chris Paul Wants to be Traded to Lakers, Knicks or Magic Lakers would have enough to trade with. So would Orlando! That would be a nice team. Dont see it with Miami.
Re: Chris Paul Wants to be Traded to Lakers, Knicks or Magic Miami isn't one of the listed teams. On ESPN Broussard said he heard the preferred teams are NYK, Orlando, Portland, and Dallas and NOT the Lakers. If the Knicks are aggressive he should be easy to get. They've still got a shit load of cap room right? Plus Anthony Randolph, Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Raymond Felton (might be restrictions on moving him since he just signed) which they can move to get Paul. Portland has some pieces to get him and a new GM who may want to make a move. If I'm NO I'm demanding one of Roy, Aldridge, Oden back though and probably more. We'll see if the new GM has the balls to do that.
