So he seems to prefer Knicks and Blazers deals. Interesting he does not include Oden. Is this a Hornets blog or what?

OMG, if we get Paul and Okafor (who I think is underrated on this board) while keeping Roy and Oden, I would FLIP OUT. Please let this happen. The fact that Chris Broussard said Paul is coming to Portland if traded is HUGE. Chris Broussard is the guy who broke the LeBron to Miami story the night before the ESPN special. One of Broussard's sources was close to Paul because he reported that Paul was trying to convince him to stay in Cleveland. This is very exciting.... I'll only flinch if we give up Oden. You can't beat the Lakers without bigs. LMA/Oden/Okafor can get it done.

Oh and Entity, re: link about Pippen trade, I forgot about Pippen saying he wouldn't apologize to Barkley at gunpoint. That is fucking hysterical.

Especially after just watching what happened with LeBron and Bosh. The Cavs especially were completely humiliated.

Trading for a superstar who doesn't want to go there happens (Webber to Sactown), but if you are the GM doing that you are really sticking your neck out. It can't be much fun to be the GM who acquires a superstar when that superstar subsequently tells everyone in the media what a shit hole his new team is. It not only brings a cloud over the franchise about eventually trying to re-sign the star, but it points out to the fans how bad of a job the GM has done to this point in building the team.

What bothers me is that some sources seem to think Paul's ideal scenario is playing with Stoudamire and Anthony in New York. So, as others have said we take the risk that we would only have Paul for two years. Also, I guess I want a guy coming to the Blazers who thinks the ideal situation is playing with Roy and LaMarcus and the rest of the Blazers. Somebody who would just as soon live in Portland as New York. Not somebody like James who wants to live in the limelight and create a superstarteam. Maybe that's idealistic or impractical. But I do think that if a deal materializes, that the Blazers should ask for a sitdown with Paul before it is finalized. Mr Allen, Mr. Cho, Mr. Mc Millan should all be included, maybe Mr. Roy also. They need to really find out who Paul is, where his head is at, what are his plans. this is a big decision and I think the Blazers need to proceed cautiously.

There are some really rich quotes in there:

Dang. Funny that in his four years as a Blazer I don't think he ever publicly called out a teammate like he did with Barkley. And it's not like he didn't have some pretty questionable teammates in those years.

Barkley must have really, really pissed him off.

I agree this is a BIG decision for Portland and they need to make sure that 1) Paul wants to come here and 2) is willing to stay beyond 2 years. I would hope that PA's money and playing with Roy/LMA would be enough to convince him.

The fans and the Potential of a Championship in Portland would convince him, challenging the Lakers in the WCF would convince him

CP3: Go to NYC if you want stardom, Come to Portland if you wanna win.

I don't think Paul is like LeBronze he wants to win rings. Although you could argue LeBron is like that as he went to Miami. Honestly, LeBron went to Miami because they will win and THAT would make him more money. LeBron wants to be a billionaire that is his goal, championships are just part of his 6 step program. And no those 6 steps are NOT travelling we're talking about LeBron James here.

Orlando has now overtaken New York at the top of Chris Paul's list.

Disagree. We have far more to offer than the Magic. But more power to him.

New York, Portland and Dallas are still all on Paul's short list.

You kept the above part out of the article why?

Paul can talk about who is at the top of his list all he wants, but the more he boxes himself in, the harder it will be to trade him. If Paul says "It's Orlando." The Magic will lowball because they think they have the leverage, and NO will tell them to fuck off.

Why does what Paul wants matter? I mean short of maybe honoring those places due to having good trade pieces to offer why should Shinn care?

Oh and fuck Paul going to Orlando what a bunch of horseshit. Florida should start it's own two team league If that happens.

Paul has so little leverage, come on. NO is going to want compensation, they aren't going to be too concerned about Paul.

I think as long as we're on the list, and we can make the best offer, we have the best chance of getting him.
