Even if I know how everyone's going to vote, I'm still curious.

LMA. I think his ceiling is higher and is harder to replace.

Crap, I forgot to make it a public poll. Oh well, now those who vote Aldridge (like me), won't have to worry about getting lynched. :)

    Hello darkness, my old friend
I don't think voting for Aldridge is going to get anyone lynched. ;) Batum may not even win this poll. Even I have some misgivings about giving up a talented young big man, despite Batum being my favourite player on the team. And while Batum is very efficient, it's with a pretty small usage rate. Still, with a 17+ PER and fantastic defense at 21, I think Batum's prime is going to be better than Aldridge's.

My feeling is that if we were to make a trade for a star player (not necassarily CP3, but any 20ish ppg impact player), who's talents becomes less needed? IMO that's Aldridge, with another 20ppg scorer and the return of Oden we no longer need a low/mediocre efficiency scorer who can operate as a 3rd or 4th option on offense and be adequete on defense but not really make an impact. What we would need is someone willing to be the 5th option on offense while still being able to stretch the floor with high effecieny shooting, and someone capable of defending the other teams best wing so that Roy doesn't have too.

The only way I'd rather see Batum traded in a deal for a star is if it was for a SF, because that would lower his oncourt value. But assuming you consider SG and C as taken care of from a talent perspective then I'd rather use Aldridge to acquire a better option at the PG or PF than to use Batum to acquire an SF.

I gotta go with LMA; I think he's not as efficient, but in the long run he's more valuable as a go-to scorer for a quarter or two with decent defense versus a defensive wing who has shown bursts of offensive ability.

15-12 now with LMA winning. I voted LMA, Batums shoulders worry me almost as much as Odens knees.

15-15 now... I'm heartened to see the LMA bashing that went on in May seems to have been tamped down.

My opinion is up there if you want to read it.

Frankly I think Aldridge is under appreciated.

    Aldridge.

I think Batum's overall ceiling and potential is overrated by a lot of people.

Much easier to replace a soft PF than a defensive stopper who can shoot the lights out. Hell Channing Frye would do

I voted Aldridge. I think that Batum has a higher ceiling, but he's much farther from realizing it, and all other things being equal I'd prefer a big guy.

I'm about as split on this as the vote seems to be. I went with Aldridge because SF is the is easier spot to fill with a passable player.
