UPDATE: Alex Kennedy of HOOPSWORLD tweeted that the team has also shown interest in Von Wafer to fill the void. --- With Tony Allen now a member of the Grizzlies, the Celtics have a backup void at small forward. According to A. Sherrod Blakely of Comcast SportsNet New England, the team has had conversations about Jarvis Hayes. Hayes likely wouldn't replace the top-notch perimeter defense Allen brought to the table, Blakely noted, but his shooting would be welcome. Other small forwards on the team's list -- which are rated above Hayes, according to Blakely -- are Matt Barnes (who's likely a longshot), Rasual Butler, Larry Hughes and Antoine Wright. The team may use Rasheed Wallace's dead contact to swing a trade for a small forward.
