The Mavericks have acquired a few big men this summer by re-signing Brendan Haywood and trading for Tyson Chandler and Alexis Ajinca. But there was one other name they were after: Chris Kaman. ESPN's Marc Stein reports that the Mavs have had continual interest in Kaman "which happened as recently as earlier this month before Dallas' flirtations with an Al Jefferson trade and its eventual acquisition of Chandler." But Stein also reports the Clippers "continue to forcefully reject" trade inquiries for Kaman. Considering Kaman registered an All-Star appearance last season and the Clippers have him under contract for the next two seasons, it would make sense they aren't dangling him in any trade talks.
