I'm starting to think unless our offer is Batum/Oden NO isn't gonna trade him and I don't want to give up Oden for him.

Plus, we have Larry Miller and Rich Cho running the show. It's a slam dunk.

Two reasons. First, I assumed that was still a given, and second I didn't think we were allowed to post entire articles, and when I found the article it was only two paragraphs long.

I think its length that matters, rather then girth. Wait I mean speaking about articles. So no more then X number of words. Also paid for content isn't ok unless you are an admin or moderator. ;)

I will be curious to see if its just PR talk from the Hornets or if they are willing to "take a stance". Guess we will see.

The biggest problem is that it kind of handcuffs Portland from making any other deals that would include major assets in a future deal for Paul. For example do you proceed with a Harris trade now if this turns out be NO's statedgy?

I think this is NOH trying to salvage their trade leverage. If people think that they are being forced to trade him, they will offer less because they think that NO isn't in a position to say no.

That was my take as well but I'm biased. It is true that Paul doesn't have leverage now other then the threat of even greater leverage later ie the walk away. IMO it would be better for the Hornets to trade now while they DO have leverage and the ability to say no. In my experience less, not more is available atthe deadline as most teams have done as other posters suggested and traded assets for plan B.

Conclusion, this is a smokescreen and they may initially say no trade as a united front to drive up value. If something doesn't happen during the height of Hornet negotiating power then look for CP3 to leak more discontented material to the media. IMO the meeting Monday is to get CP3 to help them maximize value. Hell we were telling brother Wendell we wouldn't part with Batum that might have horrified NOH management.

CP3 made David West an All-Star pick-and-pop Power Forward. The "Mid-Range Assassin" as CP3 calls him.

There's hope for LMA. Out of everyone (that's left) I think LMA will benefit the most if we were to land CP3.

Question? Assuming we retain Oden and he is dominant for say 72+ games and the playoffs would you add to your sig something about how you were dead wrong and Oden is a hero? I will add something to mine in reverse if he is injured plagued. Deal?

You are dead wrong about who CP3 benefitted the most it was Chandler until he couldn't get off the bench.

Before CP3 arrived David West looked like he was bound to be a journyman. Despite being a four-year College player he looked very raw his rookie year (3.8 ppg) and two years later, with CP3, his average jumped to nearly 18 ppg. IMO, CP3 made David West into the player he is today.

And I don't think I can do that with Oden as I think he'll eventually end up in the package for CP3.

Uh, I had the qualifier ASSUMING WE RETAIN HIM!!! So with that qualifier do you believe what you are saying enough to make a one year signature bet? I do and I am willing. I'll take Nik's unbreakable sig or any reasonable sig you want something like I was dead wrong and Oden is a glassman or something similar. You believe what you think or are you talking out your ass?

If I didn't know any better, I would assume Oden was Idog's child.

Grandson actually, but who's counting. I just get sick of the stupid ass hate and undervaluing he gets. He's worth more then anyone on the roster not named Roy for POTENTIAL alone. Anyone who can't see that is blind as far as I'm concerned.

To get value you have to give up value. CP3 is the best PG in the League and is still only 25 years old, he's just now entering his prime. IMO, giving up Oden for Chris is a small price to pay.

So about that bet you keep avoiding? Gut crimping up because you know you're wrong? Again a trade of Oden would disqualify the bet.

P.S. I would trade Oden as well.

But at the most this would be it:

I guess I don't see trading Oden for the best PG in the NBA as undervauing him at all. It's a big compliment to
Oden if he is indeed the key trading for Paul. I don't want to give up Batum AND Oden, but if it takes Oden for Paul, I'm game, so long as we get Okafor in return. Emeka's per/36 rebound numbers are 1.5 rpg behind Oden, and less than 1 orpg. Plus, his fouls/36 are 3.6 compared to 6.0 for Oden.

Trading Oden for Paul would be idiotic. We would have absolutely ZERO chance at winning the title. He has to be healthy, but Oden is our only realistic chance at getting to the Finals.
