A strained right elbow has landed veteran right-hander Ben Sheets on the 15-day disabled list, the Athletics announced on Saturday. Left-hander Cedrick Bowers was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento to take Sheets' place on the roster. Sheets struggled to begin the year, but seemed to find solid footing of late, going 2-1 with a 3.38 ERA over his past four starts.
