Fires on the beach are totally legal, by the way. Also, all Oregon beaches are public. There is no private beachfront property. You can go anywhere on the Oregon coast that you want. Wander. There are a few areas that are protected during certain seasons (to protect the nesting habitat of the Snowy Plover). But seriously. Gather some drift wood, light a fire, drink a beer and make some food over the fire. That is what it is all about. Whilst in Bandon, I would reccomend going down to the docks, renting a crab pot and kicking back with some coffee. Nothing beats that. Also, when you are in that area, if you need to head to a slightly bigger town for shooping needs, drive on up to Coos Bay. Not a great city by any means, but it should have anything you are looking for. Also, just south of shore acres, which I mentioned in my first post, is a really neat area with strange rock formations jutting out into the sea which are home to thousands of Sea lions. It can be pretty breathtaking. There is actually a really amazing trail that goes from Shore Acres, up through the mountains and back down to the Sea Lion breeding ground that is about 5 miles long. Amazing. Have fun!
