"Due to the fact that Friday's game was rained out and Shaun Marcum's start was pushed back a day to Saturday, the Jays will need a starting pitcher for Wednesday's game in Toronto against Baltimore. That game was supposed to be started by Marcum but now he's unavailable as he would be asked to pitch on three days rest and short rest is something you don't give a guy who has recently come off the disabled list and missed all of last year due to Tommy John surgery.

Manager Cito Gaston said he knows who they will use but did not want to reveal the starter in question at this time. He first said the replacement would not require a roster move which meant that lefty reliever Brian Tallet would be the likely replacement. Minutes later when asked if a roster move was ruled out for the replacement he said it could "go either way." Stay tuned."
