Ross Greenburg Tried to Put the Mayweather/Pacquiao Fight Together

    There has been plenty of mud slinging of late, following the second failed attempt to put “the fight” together between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Manny Pacquiao, the #1 and #2 pound-for-pound fighters in the sport (you choose the order).

    Bob Arum and Top Rank Promotions set a deadline for Team Mayweather to make a decision as to whether or not he wanted to fight Pacquiao. Mayweather let this deadline pass, then casually stated he wasn’t thinking about boxing after all was said and done. Arum held a midnight press conference to explain what the deadline meant, how the exclusivity had now expired. He soon moved forward to put a fight together for Pacquiao’s November 13th fight date. It is looking like Antonio Margarito will be the likely opponent.

    During this press conference, however, Arum repeatedly suggested that he had been working with HBO Sports president Ross Greenburg as a mediator for the negotiations with Mayweather. Here’s what Arum had to say:
