Rudy Fernandez, in an interview with 'El Mundo Sportivo' claims the Blazers are trying to include him in a trade and he's happy with that. He says his agents are in America looking for a trade. Didn't mention specific teams.

This information is from another board, I would give you a link but it's in hebrew. it's from a credible poster, so it's probably true.

Rudy wants a trade? Get David Kahn on the phone.

The problem with the dumbass is that he only wants to play for certain teams. I thought I read somewhere that the Blazers wanted to deal him to Minny on draft night, or shortly thereafter and he and his agent balked at playing there....Not that they have much say, but no team is going to trade for a player who will be unhappy playing there

Trade him for a late 2nd rounder and send him to Minnesota or Detroit or Memphis. Fuck Rudy.

He can't do anything. He doesn't have a no trade clause.

True, but if he says he doesn't want to play in Minnesota, why would Minnesota give anything of value for him?

    I really do understand that.

But if, say the Blazers, wanted to trade for Aaron Brooks and Aaron Brooks and his agent came out and said "we do not want to play for Portland". Do you think Portland should trade for him anyway?

Probably not, but they might do it anyways if they feel that the risk there might pay off. I don't think Rudy would be so far off in dramaland that he wouldn't even report to the team.

    Stop the presses!

Can't this guy keeps his mouth shut? Or does he not understand that his value sinks lower and lower every time he opens his trap?

Yes. Once again, Sacramento traded for Chris Webber, and he was quite open about not wanting to go there. Worked out all right. It depends on whether or not you have confidence in your organization's being able to make players happy. (Of course, Rudy is evidence that the Blazers aren't perfect in that regard...)

A lot of people are blowhards. Some people will be unhappy but will never say it. Sometimes the agent will have told the player to say that because s/he (the agent) doesn't think that destination is "endorsement-rich". If you want the player, you don't care if he says right now he doesn't want you.

(Buy the way, I hope we DON'T want Aaron Brooks.)

I would put a lot of Blazers fans who hate Rudy in this category. Some people haven't even walked a mile in his shoes let alone 1,000. I'm just saying all the drama is not as Black and White as everyone makes it out to be. Sure Rudy was a bust in the playoff's, but so was our entire offense

I kind of agree that I think the extent that people have turned on Rudy is ridiculous (Rudiculous). It's like an ugly divorce. The guy's unhappy, let him talk. He's a good player (in some respects) and certainly great fun to watch when he is in a system that maximizes his talents. Clearly that's not going to be Nate's system. Get over it, people.

I just hope they trade him to a team in the west so he can guard Roy 3-4 games a year.

It's his contract that diminishes his value, IMO. As bad as he played last season, he still wasn't terrible. I just don't see how the Blazers get anything of value in return for him unless he is included in a bigger trade.

I totally agree. I remember reading posts about Roy needing to be moved (either position or team) someday so Rudy could be the starter. Hell, I even remember reading about how Rudy should be the starting PG, for chrissakes. Talk about unrealistic expectation. He is what he is, but I certainly don't hate the guy. He gave up a lot of money to come to Portland. I'm sure he is incredibly frustrated with not only his situation, but also how he played last season.

Huh? His salary is $1.2 million, peanuts in the NBA.
