Daily Herald - An NBA source tells Barry Rozner that the Timberwolves have no intention of trading Kevin Garnett and that offers won't even be heard unless a player they would be receiving in return is either named Kobe Bryant of LeBron James. Minnesota will pick sixth in the NBA Lottery.
They are so stupid. Kevin needs to demand a trade, because although the TWolves have made him mighty rich, they haven't brought him any basketball success from a team standpoint. They've let him down
Yeah they have. And if they think they will get KG whos good for like what 8 more years and lebron whos good for about 15 more years there are realllllly crazy. Good luck with that.
don't see many other players worth trading for from a T-Wolves point of view. There was a rumour that the Suns would trade Marion and Barbosa for KG.

Garnett can't be relied upon as a garbage player like Marion, and doesn't have the consistent 3-Point range. Plus, they lose a great backup SG. I don't like it for either team

We have two first round draft picks this year, if we can use these wisely to get a couple of solid backups then the Suns will be even harder to deal with next year.
So in other words, KG isn't going. They really need to start to improve the team or else KG will probably request a trade. And I wouldnt blame him either, look at what they have accomplished with 11 years in Minny...nothing. Second round one year, thats it.
Unlike most players, if KG requested a trade at this point my opinion of him wouldn't change abit. Actually, he NEEDS to demand a trade.Trade KG!!Trade KG!!Trade KG!!Trade...
I really think a trade to Cleveland would be great for Lebron and the Cavs. I'd say send Drew Gooden, and Big Z to Minnasota for KG then Draft a center. It would help both teams.
This is called a bluff. The T-Wolves are making it seem as if they value Garnett moreso than perhaps they do so they have leverage on other teams and can get better offers because teams will try to put together more attractive packages. They arent going to come out and say "hmm..well we dont really want a star in return for KG, but a decent player will do just fine."

They are merely trying to maybe increase KG's trade value, especially now that he's been knocked off a little bit by reporters/analysts (and didn't even make the All-NBA 3rd team for some reason). You are totally right, they aren't gunna come out and say they aren't exactly looking for a star for KG, because that will shoot down all possibilities of getting one in return. My opinion, KG would rather win in Minnesota and retire there, but at the same time everyone knows (including him) that it isn't happening. They don't have the pieces necessary to bring in a perimiter star. Ricky Davis is a great scorer and a good guy but him and a young player and a filler is not getting you another star (I do not believe those Allen Iverson/Ricky Davis rumors 1 bit). That said, KG needs to go somewhere else. He needs to go somewhere built for winning now or has another perimiter star that isn't too selfish, but also with complementary players. Minnesota doesn't really have much more than a good player in Ricky D, a promising young talent in Banks (who could probably get money elsewhere, and will this summer), Mr. Stonehands in Blount, and a bunch of average roll players (Jaric, Hudson, Griffin, Reed, Hassell). They do have a nice young wing in McCants though. It would be best for both Garnett and the Timberwolves organization to trade KG and start over and build with youth.
Kevin Garnett isn't stupid, he knows whatever team that trades for him would have to give up half their team to get him along with a lot of their talent. He's not going to get traded somewhere and get a championship. He knows this. Everything he has is in Minnesota, his amazing home and family, he's going to retire a T-Wolve.

I don't know of the Cavs cap situation, but I wouldn't pursue Drew too heavily. He's a solid palyer, don't get me wrong, but he isn't irraplaceable.
