You know, when you start a thread on here, you just never know what kind of a twisted path that sucker's going to follow.
That would be my hope as well. I also wonder if we're shopping for a younger PG who can tutor under Miller for two years and then we have our 'PG of the future'.
Anyone think that Quick is just throwing things out there so he can claim he was the first to talk about it? Does he have some kind of deal with the Blazers where they give him (or don't worry if he gets) inside information, as long as he doesn't tell the details before they say "go"? If I were the Blazers I wouldn't give him squat. However, I can see some value in working with him if you can get him to agree to not out a specific trade that he found out from a source (agent) that he shouldn't have.
But who would this be? I can't find too many PG prospects out there that could be available that also have promise. The good prospects aren't going anywhere and it is hard to get excited about bringing in someone else's second choice, who may not be better than what we have in our stable.
OK, I will go on record right now. Quick is a lying little prick, and there will be no trade, unless it is some meaningless BS like Mills for a future 2nd rounder. Come Monday, people should start calling 95.5 and demanding he be banned from their station.
Obviously Quick has an account on s2. The username is "Mediocre Man" and of course he's saying... Deal Coming Soon
Yeah, sorry about that. Needed to be said. Anyways, I still think we should look for assets NOH wants like a Rudy for Boston unprotected 1st and a Joel or Miller sized TPE from someone like CLE.
Oh, come on now. If you go and make dispensing only accurate information a requirement for being on the radio, there'd be a lot of dead air time and not much for us to talk about.
Who is actually on contract with us? Miller, Bayless, Rudy, Matthews, Roy... anyone else? Did Johnson get signed?
Babbitt is a SF, so I'm not worried about that. Williams is injured, so I'm not worried about that, either... yes we have a lot of guards; replacing one guard with another won't help... so I'm with you there. I do think a consildation trade is in the cards though, so I'm not worried.
We need 6 guards, 6 forwards, and 3 centers. Wes will play both Guard and Forward. Without Rudy how would a consolidation even the numbers out? I count Johnson (but not Mills) Am I missing someone?
It's not even clear if Johnson will be signed. Why would NO want to give up anything for a guy that they can just sign if he doesn't make the Blazer roster?
As I give thought to CP3 or Tony Parker - I'm starting to think that trading for SA's Hill might be an interesting idea, if either player is unobtainable. San Antonio would sign Parker to an extension and obtain a much-needed SF (Chandler); Blazers would dump Rudy and get back a young, talented PG (Hill); NY would move Chandler and pick up Rudy, a 6'-6" SG from the Spurs. http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=2ex3lwa Not a blockbuster, but this may have merit.
