I think on the surface it's fair to look at it that way, but what I really think is going on is that the Blazers value both Mills and Johnson and would like to keep both, but they're waiting to see what kind of moves they can execute which might involve the movement of Bayless and/or Miller. If they get a clear cut starter like Harris, Parker, etc. then I think I can envision a scenario where both are retained. If Miller isn't traded but a backup/future starter -- guys like Collison or Conley (guys with 3 point range on their shot) -- were traded for then I'd imagine only Johnson would be kept.

George Hill for Wilson Chandler? Sorry, but the Spurs are one of the best run organizations in the league. That deal is just horrible for them.

So you are saying that San Antonio has a real delemma then? They keep Hill and ship out Parker, or re-sign Parker and deal Hill - can't keep Hill on the bench can they?

So what if the proposed trade included a key pick of the Knicks that got thrown in?

If none of this works, then I cay San Antonio makes someone a trade partner sooner than later.

The CHO LIST!!! Hopefully some good things to come from it, but at this point I'm in wait and see mode. There's been a lot of stuff flying around lately (particularly from Quick), yet little has happened.

That might be due to the fact that Quick gets most of his "insider" material from the flora in his lower intestine. Can't blame the guy much, with his head where it's at he really doesn't have anyone else to talk to.

Likewise, I made no "Jewish connection" to the joke. Not being Jewish, I don't think of WWll as their private pain, but rather the world's.

It's not like the Jews have a monopoly on WWll references.

Hitler came far closer to exterminating the Gypsies than exterminating the Jews. You don't hear Gypsies whining about it 65 years later.

Few, if any, posters here were alive or old enough to be directly affected by WWll.

My grandfather was personally driven from Yugoslavia in the 20's by the communist slaughter, but he never dwelled on it or played the sympathy card. Nor have his ancestors.

Given that Schindler's list is a reference to the Jewish experience at WW2 - the problem here is not with IDog, but with you.

Wait a minute he referenced Shindler's List which isn't about the BROADER struggle of WWII it's about saving Jews from Birkenau death camp.

Like I said, I get tired of the Holocaust being dragged out every time Israeli Foreign policy is questioned. I also don't like many manipulative ways it is used in a variety of contexts.

He made a direct comparison to a list of Jews that were smuggled out of certain death with that of Blazers being traded. He could have gone in a variety of directions such as a bouncer "You're not on the list", instead he chose what he chose. I'm cool with him, but I find your response to be over the top.

The Roma people would almost certainly have talked about the Holocaust which killed far more of them per capita - something I bring up when the Holocaust is trotted out for a political purpose to deflect valid criticism - if they had been as relatively rich.

Is the Holocaust over used as a tool of political manipulation? Yes absolutely!

Should it be made fun of? No, definitely not, just like Slavery shouldn't, the Belgian Congo genocide under King Leopold, the Rape of Nanking or any other mass slaughter.

Schindler's List isn't some random reference pal it's QUITE SPECIFIC.

I know their are Jews who read this forum and I thought that was over the top. I'm not even mad at Hasoos. However, you and BP were FAR worse then he ever dreamed about being in his attempt to make an edgy joke.

Also a fuck ton of people who are alive today had relatives who died in the Holocaust you insensitive *insert your least favorite personal attack here*!

Well, I will give Maris one thing. He did get me thinking about Real Estate in Central Oregon. That's about the only useful thing I've gotten off his tenure on the forum.

Not meaning to offend, but I vehemently oppose racism in ALL of it's forms.

Especially the misguided practice of taking "pride" in one's particular ethnicity. This is the root of all racism IMO (thinking you're special due to what is nothing more than an accident of birth), so it offends me greatly when it rears it's ugly head.

This is what led the Aryans to their despicable deeds, and what leads the Arabs and Jews to commit atrocities against each other daily. They have been raised and taught to believe they are better than others. Ethnic pride turns my stomach.

As for Real Estate here in Beautiful Central Oregon, it's rockin' like it hasn't for 5 years. I'm selling homes and property at a pace of 1 a week all summer so far. Selling prices are at 2000-2003 levels and the choices are infinite. Interest rates are crazy low. You can buy cheaper than renting, and bare land is "dirt" cheap.

I actually agreed with everything you wrote here. Didn't really see a retraction but whatever. I hate the god's chosen people meme arguably one of the oldest and most dangerous mind viruses. Whether it's Jews, Muslims, Evangelicals whites in the South or Orthodox Hindus it's dangerous. I also loathe elitism of most all sorts including Dawkins type Aetheists who are hateful towards the less intelligent.

Now any of those groups can and do include reasonable people. It's elitism that is dangerous regardless of the form.

The one exception of course is Blazer elitism especially when we begin our Paul/Roy/Oden/LMA dynasty where the streets will run red with the blood of Lakers fans !!!

Hmm, maybe I got a bit carried away there with my Blazer fanaticism...

Yes you did. We just need to kill the Lakers and convert their fans to Blazeranity.

What this board needs is a way mods can split threads off... select the posts that vastly leave the thread and boom... move them off into their own thread. Like this one.
