Re: Gerald's Sophomore year I think this will be a bigger year for Gerald. We got to see flashes of his game and is athleticism at the end of the 05-06 season. As with all 2nd year guys out of high school or out of a first year at college, we will notice much improvements in conditioning and strength. Does anyone look for a lot of production out of Gerald Green? Or will he just make quick appereances like last season? I think it will be a mix of both, his mechanics were a little shaky but his athleticism is amazing. His release on his jump shot is so quick and there were few players in the 05' draft that were as quick as he is off the dribble. Let's hear some thoughts on Gerald....
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year Gerald will come off the bench and play 18-22 minutes I think. Not in a 6th man role, but similar to it (I think Tony will be the best 6th man at this point). But I see Gerald scoring 8-10 ppg, not much more. The year after that is where I think he will break into the starting lineup and blow everyone out of the water on the offensive end, barring he works on his defense just a bit.
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year First half of season: 7ppgReason: Doc is stubborn and of course wants to win now so Gerald will have limited playing time and play brilliantly during most of that time with alot of clumsy defensive mistakes.Second half of season: 15ppgReason: More practices, more game experience, and either an injury or Doc just seeing that Gerald is an offensive force that can actually help will result in 25-32mpg for him. It'll be the SG/SF version of Delonte, with about 12ppg on the year (in stats not playing time and development).
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year I think he'll be a 10 PPG player at best, and that is a stretch. This is a guy who got into the NBA of athletisicm and hype, and didn't improve this year any noticable amount. It's guys like him I ahve no respect for

Haha, Gerald improved from the beginning of the year ten-fold. Played better defense, and he looked less lost on the floor. But yeah, whatever, you are pretty ignorant to say sh*t like that.
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year Wow, yet another blatent insult from a member directed towards yours truly. You do realize that my depiction of Gerald was an opinion, and instead of giving me solid points that would make my statement seem dumb, you simply through out a one-liner and an insult - making yourself look stupid in the process.Don't insult me, or any other member if it's out of bias or a complete lack of knowledge of how to argue on a message board. You don't seem tough. You don't seem smart. You don't seem worthwhile.By coming out and saying I'm ignorant simply paints a picture of yourself in the dictionary beside the word; especially considering you did nothing to prove me wrong. Please, grow up and show some intelligence. It's amessage board, we're all here to learn and discuss basketball. If you are going to attempt to do neither, then leave

Re: Gerald's Sophomore year I kinda get where your coming from KMart but still the kid has only played in 32 games and everyone knew he would be a project. How much improvement were you looking for in 32 games of his rookie year out of high school? He turned 20 in Janurary, he's still extremely young, it will take some time.
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year He needs to add more to his game. Right now, he is just attacking the rim and getting dunks. It's all raw, he really needs to work on everything this off-season. I could see him averaging 8 ppg off of pure athleticism though.

What's wrong with attacking the basket?
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year Nothing bad about it. Im just saying his game isnt developed at all. He gets burned on defense too.

I think Gerald will be a great player but will never get be a good defender. He's quick enough to be a player that could get steals and he's certainly athletic enought to play good defense, after watching him though it seems he's destined be an offensive powerhouse and a defensive slacker.
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year Gerald=Tracy McGrady in 3 years, but a better dunker.KMart, you have NO f*cking IDEA what you are talking about.youre from north carolina apparently, how many full celtics games have u watched? cuz out of the 82 ive prolly watched 70 completely, and any time geralds on i PAY ATTENTION. the kid is a highlight reel already. kmart, let me tell u one thing, assuming youre a bobcats fan, you passed up on gerald TWICE. and even if youre not, youre still jealous. this kids gonna be the foundation for the boston dynasty and u either know it or don't want to believe it so you're dissin c's fans hopes and dreams while you can so our pain lasts a little longer. nice job boy

Anyway, Gerald Green WILL NOT be like Tmac. He just simply wont be that good IMO. To me he'll be more of an athletic Michael Finley when he was a bit past his prime. I dont ever see him having any defensive presence, but then again, Steve Nash can win an MVP without even so much as playing defense.........
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year Well it looks like some of you have problems answering the question and giving your thoughts without insulting someone on their opinions. All I am gunna say is KMART has not watched much of Gerald Green, on account he said he hasn't improved. That is crazy. My analysis on Gerald Green: Given the minutes he is capable of double digit scoring right now. But will he get the minutes from Doc next year? Probably not. I am not gunna make any statistical predictions like everyone, because I really don't care if he scores 5 ppg next year or 10, as long as he has improved as an overall player on both ends of the floor, especially defense. With Gerald's work ethic and the fact that he's been working out when he went home as well with his hometown trainer, makes me believe their is no doutb he will be stronger and a better basketball player come next season. No doubt. The fact is he is 20 though, and raw out of high school, so he probably isn't going to wow you next year as far as becomming a key player in the rotation. He needs time. I am a firm believer that with this kids athleticism, length, quickness, shooting tough, and knack for scoring in any situation that he is going to be a good player in this league. But not in 2007. Those T-Mac comparisons - His game is very very much like McGrady. Will he be as good an all around player as T-Mac in his prime? Chances are hell no. But I do believe he will be a 20-25 point scorer in his prime and a pretty decent all around player that will be a regular on SportsCenter until he's in his 30's. Next year, I predict Gerald to get about 7-10 mpg for the 1st half of the season, and if he proves to Doc he is too good to keep on the bench, then 13-15 mpg for the 2nd half. I say in 2008, watch out for Gerald Green.
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year celtic i agree with everything till the endhe will get more time then that, and i expect 20ppg out of him in 08, not in his prime.
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (KhAoS-CelticsFahLyfe @ May 25 2006, 05:44 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>celtic i agree with everything till the end he will get more time then that, and i expect 20ppg out of him in 08, not in his prime.</div> I love this. Everyone wants to keep the young core exactly together and everyone makes statistical predictions. "West will be 17/6/5 in his prime" "Al will be 20/12" "Gerald will be 25/5/5" "TA will be 15 ppg" "Gomes will be a 17/9 guy" Christ sake add that in with Pierce and Wally, plus another role player or 2 you guys have us putting up 135 points a night. lol
Re: Gerald's Sophomore year when we say stuff like that we assume wally will be gone and pierce will be old by that time. and those numbers are correct IF THEY ACHIEVE EXPECTATIONS
