He failed because apparently he was very disrespectful and nonchalant about the work he had to do in the Israel league.

Well he was also homesick, which is understandable considering how young he is and being in a new country mostly by himself, but yes. There was a story about his experience either on Yahoo or ESPN awhile back and it did not paint him in a good picture. If I recall he thought he'd be able to get big minutes and start simply because of his stature, but didn't really understand that there were grown men ahead of him who were fighting for their careers. I think he was very lazy in practice too, just going through the motions, etc. There was some speculation that this happened so he could get out of his contract, at least I believe. It has been awhile since the article.

Ah, I didn't realize he is going to be eligible for the '11 draft.

    Why would Stern be smiling?

Stern favors the age limit, and actually wants it bumped up to 20. I'm not sure he gives two shits about whether a player plays for a college team in the US or a professional team overseas.

He wants to market his league worldwide. So actually...perhaps he would rather these kids go out and play around the world, spreading NBA excitement to places like Israel and Japan.

Either way, he has no vested interest in the kid failing.

Bullshit! When Jennings went to Europe instead of Arizona, he was scared that his success would create a new trend. He did not want young kids going overseas just to get around the rule.

Uh, that "bust" Tyler just made 140k in his senior year of HS, and is about to make some more cash his freshman year of college.

I have never in my life made 140k in one year...and as has already been pointed out, he couldn't have played in the NBA until NEXT year, anyway.

If homesickness is an issue I don't think he will be very happy in Japan. It is very different from life in the states and Japanese are very slow to accept foreigners into their culture.

The BJL if a good league for him though. He will be with a coach that has NBA experience and there are old NBA and european players there. He could really stand out if he is motivated.

All great players have an ego and self confidence. What they don't have - and what Tyler has in abundance - is an inflated sense of entitlement. The greats know they have to work hard and earn it. Tyler thinks it will just be handed to him on a platter. Sadly, there are people who are foolish enough to feed his belief. 20 years from now, he will look back on the wreckage of what could have been a good career, and either not understand how it went wrong, or not even realize it did!

Well I've been with a woman or two when I was younger (in the USA!) that had some hair and it didn't bother me. What's more they were mega fun and adventuresome in bed. I'd rather have a woman with a bit of body hair who is willing to be fun and adventuresome in bed due to being ok with their body, than with what I find in this country. By the way, most European woman fit the latter and most are shaved contrary to ANCIENT American myths. What I have found is some women that are shaven clean perfectly manicured in every way are also so beaten down about their bodies and frigid from shit heel men that they aren't entirely comfortable with themselves and therefore are both confused and confusing.

In Europe by contrast women wanted to get it on like Donkey Kong, were not confused, were confident in their bodies and willing to do all manner of fun things most American post-puritan women are not. This country's virgin/whore dynamic has probably cost the men of this country untold millions of hours in pleasure and of course women's pleasure (which most on this board find to be an afterthought if it's thought of at all!) is also reduced to next to nothing.

Fascist beauty standards don't do much for me if the woman who conforms to them is all fucked in the head and not ok with herself or able to be comfortable with sex because of the paradoxical standards of our crazy ass society.

I bet most of the men on this board who rip on women all the time look like pasty, hairy apes with monster beer bellies. If you don't look like John Ham you really should get the fuck out with demanding it from women.
