The Lakers now have 11 players under contract for next season after they signed Matt Barnes and Theo Ratliff on Thursday. The roster will increase to 13 once second round picks Devin Ebanks and Derrick Caracter agree to deals.

Shannon Brown still hasn't signed with any team. Could he come back to Lakers?

"We're still talking," agent Mark Bartelstein told FanHouse.

Bartelstein reportedly told Dave McMenamin of ESPNLosAngeles.com that Barnes' signing does not affect his negotiations with the Lakers, however the more salary they take on the larger the luxury tax bill for 2010-11 increases.

    Update ....

UPDATE: Despite some questions to the contrary, it looks like Brown could be back in L.A.

Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register chimes in via Twitter on Friday afternoon, and writes that Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak "indicates he expects to re-sign Brown in coming weeks" and he's "optimistic" about him returning.

Additionally, Kupchak indicated that the Barnes signing was for insurance on Luke Walton, because Walton's back could keep him out next season.

Yeah, I figured he'd be back to backup Kobe.

After these three signings, look at our freakin salary cap :O :O. At least we have Sashas shitty contract coming off next season and maybe Luke's too but still there are plenty of players who are getting too much imo.

Clearly Kobe Bryant. Dude is not efficient, isn't top 10 in the league right now, chokes so much, and is a horrible, horrible human being. Also his fanbase should also have depreciated his value, but his contract says otherwise. His stats are horrible on any plane of existence. And his name isn't LeBron James.

    Fucking overrated, overpaid prick.

If Bynum could go injury-free then he wouldn't be overpaid but right now he is. We're paying 13mil for a guy who has been injured for the last 3 playoffs. Lamar is Lamar, when he wants to play he's worth his 8million a year but his inconsistency makes me question about his value. In 2013/14 Kobe is getting 30mil a year, I love the guy but this is ridiculous, we know he's slowing down a bit and his salary numbers are increasing heavily. That has also very much to do with the crowd of course, that he brings to Staples Center.

Woah that was harsh! He's on the Magic-Bird tier.

I don't know how he is off the court.

    Just clarifying my position. ;)

I like this era a little more too, I generally give it a little edge.

All signs are pointing to Shannon Brown returning to the Lakers. Other teams that were pursuing him, such as the Cavaliers, have moved on.
