#22 Kyle LowryPosition: PGHeight: 6-0Weight: 185Age: 20School: VillanovaThe skinny: The Nets desperately need to upgrade their bench both in the front and the backcourt. Lowry is a super athletic, scrappy point guard who could help run the frentic pace that the Nets like to play. He's not the best shooter in the world, but he does just about everything else well. If he played another year in college, he'd have a shot at the lottery. That makes grabbing him here a steal.#23 Alexander JohnsonPosition: PFHeight: 6-10Weight: 230Age: 23School: FSUThe skinny: One of my draft sleepers this year. Johnson may be the most athletic big man in the draft. He's got a 40 inch vertical, runs the floor well and has great toughness at the position. While scouts wish he was a little taller (he's 6-foot-9 in shoes) and a little longer, his explosive athleticism and toughness remind some scouts of Kenyon Martin. The Nets need to get more athletic and tougher up front and Johnson, though a gamble, just might deliver.I like the sound of both of those players in terms of them fitting in with the Nets..Johnson sounds very appealing to me..

Its info about players the Nets have expressed interest in as they worked out Johnson earlier today and were apparently positively influenced by his workout..

Kyle is an ok pick, but when there will probably be players still avaible like Josh Boone, Saer Sene, and Aaron Gray, why the heck would they pick Alexander Johnson

I think Lowry would be a great pick for the Nets. He was very good with villanova and has a lot of potential at just 20 still. He'll be a solid backup for Kidd, and since he's getting up there in age, Lowry should be able to relieve him of big minutes during the regular season to save him for the playoffs.

I dont know too much about college basketball, but from reading the information on Johnson and the positive feedback the Nets had in regards to today's workout with him, he seems like an intriguing player..I like Lowry from seeing him play in the tourney and like what he would bring to the table as Kidd's assistant..

Reports state the Nets were very happy with Shannon Brown's performance in workouts and that he looked very good. Several other teams made similar statements, causing his draft stock to raise lately..Nets Work Out Shawne Williams, Hassan Adams ScheduledThe Nets Thursday worked out Shawne Williams, the 6'-9" freshman forward who played for John Calipari's Memphis Tigers this season. Williams, one of the more versatile freshmen in the country, is projected as a late first/early second round pick. Also working out Thursday: Saso Zagorac, a 6'-8" forward who averaged 19 ppg in Slovenia this season. Hassan Adams, Arizona's 6'-4" swingman, will also work out later this month.Brazilian Intrigues, Boone Impresses Net BrassA little known Brazilian power forward, Leonardo Dos Santos, turned some heads at the Nets draft workouts Wednesday. While the Nets admitted they were impressed with Josh Boone, the much better known Connecticut big man, they were intrigued by Dos Santos, known as "Morro" in Brazil. Ed Stefanski described him as "skilled" and "interesting". The 6'-11" Dos Santos, was Brazil's top shot blocker last season. Meanwhile, Rivals.com suggests who could help the Nets in the draft.

Williams Workout Ends Early; Bobby Jones Up NextShawne Williams didn't get to show the Nets all that he has Thursday. A stiff back, exacerbated by a 7-hour plane delay, led the 6'-9" Memphis forward and the Nets brass to end his workout early. Ed Stefanski called him skilled but "somewhat raw because of inexperience". Bobby Jones, Washington's defensive specialist, comes in Monday. Meanwhile, Rod Thorn bemoaned this year's free agent crop and said the Nets would be focused more on the draft as a result.
