http://www.newsnet5.com/dpp/sports/sports_blogs_local/haden-agrees-to-terms Joe Haden signed his rookie deal, widely reported at around 5 year, $50 million if I remember correctly with some ridiculous sum guaranteed.
I've been hearing reports he's come off slow during camp. Seriously, I remember blowing this guy outta the water back in high school with my speed and size. He better not fuck it up for my favorite team. GO BROWNS
Most rookie corners do come off a bit slow as they adjust to the pro game with the speed and the thinking. No reason to worry yet. Keyword: yet.
I'm less concerned about his closing speed right now than I am can he support against the run? All things held equal, he's going to be a serious upgrade over what we had last year with McDonald, and combined with Sheldon Brown, we can actually cover three receivers without relying on the Almighty to cause some receiver to trip.
With my move to Connecticut, i've been out of it with the Browns news. How's Montario Hardesty faring?
You're never going to believe this...injured! Tweaked his knee last week during rookie camp, out for a few weeks. Looks like Harrison pretty much has a death grip on that starting job for now.
Jesus i'm excited for this season. I have A LOT of faith in a Hardesty + Harrison backfield. I believe that this is a setter season in that this will be the season before we make our jump from a bad team to a good team. I'm not saying we lose more games, but i'm certain whoever we get in this upcoming year's draft (plus other additions) will make us a contender. I'm already looking at this year's draft candidates. MUCH better than this year's, much more depth.
I'm a draft guy myself, grew up that way because...well...isn't it obvious? Good class coming out this year, couple of potential number one type receivers (which we could use if Massaquoi/Robiskie don't show something more this year), couple of legit 3-4 defensive line prospects to look at early. I like this team and what we're starting to build.
^he's all I really want. Can you imagine McCoy throwing it to Mass/Green? It could be something of a beauty. And yes, i believe in Colt McCoy. What I love about this draft is there are guys that'll go in the third round that will usually go in the late 1st/2nd in most years. With our team likely going nowhere this year, eventually we'll stockpile on talent or assets (depending on how you look at it).
