His summer league play better get him more playing time towards this season behind Miller at PG.

There, I've done it for HCP. This frees up time for him to make nice videos and bang various posters' wives and female (mostly) relatives.

So it looks like the Blazers would like to wait on Patty and see if they can open a roster spot through a trade. But do other teams want to wait? Patty is a restricted free agent so another team could make him an offer and i assume the Blazers would need to clear a roster spot within seven days if they wanted to match the offer.

Correct ... but on the other hand is another team likely to make an offer if they think there's a chance the Blazers match? And wouldn't they rather wait and see if the Blazers rescind their QO on Mills which would make him fully unrestricted? I don't think there are a ton of teams eager to throw a lot of guaranteed money at Patty when all he's done is a little bit of D-league work, some international play and about 30 minutes of PT in the big boy league.

I think the teams that do have interest are taking a wait and see approach, probably hoping to extend a camp invite and letting Mills play his way on to their roster.

It seems a team could make a low ball offer, which would either award them by getting him at a low price or put the Blazers in a bad spot (like we do with Utah sometimes). But maybe Cho is such a well-liked guy that clubs don't want to do that. I did read that San Antonio might be interested; they have an assistant coach who I believe coaches the Australian National team. And if a club was really interested in him, I don't think they would wait until he was unrestricted as then other clubs might get interested. I guess what I am thinking is, this is a unique situation due to the Blazers having a full roster already, and I wouldn't be surprised if some team jumped in.

We will have to see. I agree that it is possible he doesn't "fall off the cliff" like so many players do, but the one thing that concerns me is his flat arc on his jumper. If his legs start to go, even a little bit, his shooting percentage could get ugly.

Stockton amazed me with his high-level abilities even as he approached 40. And we are seeing it again with Nash. So, hope springs eternal.

Miller does seem to have the type of game where he may be able to do that. He doesn't out jump or out quick anyone. Hard to really describe how he does it really. I don't think he will start for 4 years but I think he can play that long.

No argument from me. If Kidd can, then our "Iron Man" can too.

He's had that same ugly ass jumper for 11 years in the NBA and he's never really relied on great hops to get elevation on his jumper ... that's the least of my worries. The biggest concern is stamina for a long season and being able to play credible defense.

For whatever reason, it's interesting to me that, to this point, Patty has made no moves to sign overseas.

Even though they play different positions, I wonder if keeping Mills hinges on some type of Rudy deal?

Good point, but maybe he wants to show what he's got at the World's before signing.
