Looks like the "Big Shamrock" is headed to Beantown. Boston's newly acquired Front Line of Jermaine & Shaquille O'Neal would have been awesome about 6 or 7 years ago. Interesting that he is playing for the league minimum. Does this make Boston more formidable?

Not sure how formidable it makes them, But if they had a healthy big in the finals the result would have been different

    Amen.

KG / Perk / JOneal / Shaq / Big Baby = pretty damn good frontcourt (even if some are old guys lol)

I think the O'Neal's hurt more than help these days.

I disagree. I think by taking the contracts they did, both those guys are showing they want to be quality role players. And the truth is that if you want to get past Miami, you need a lot of beefy bigs to shuffle in and out to absorb all the foul calls Wade and LeBron will draw in a series.

I love the fact the East is getting stronger. I'm so sick of the situation where the West playoffs is murderer's row while the East playoffs was a coronation. I look forward to the team from the East as beaten up and exhausted as those from the West are.

THE BIG SHAMROCK! I love it. I was trying to think of his new nickname last night and couldn't come up with one.

Could this open the door for a Rudy and Pendy for Big Baby deal?

Shaq and all the elderly Celts may have creaky bones, but they also have a lot of talent. And now they have a lot of Geritol Giants so even if one breaks a hip they will still have a good front court.

And I am all for an eastern team beefing up to be able to battle with the heat. I am now in the position that I am rooting for the Blazers first, 27 non-specified team second, the Lakers third and hopefully one of them will kill the heat. I really want to see LeBron go ringless.

Most of you guys laughed at the celtics all last season because of their age, yet when things mattered most, there they were in game 7 of the finals. Sooner or later it will catch up to them but as long as they're healthy I like their chances.

Yeah...the playoffs were the coronation of King James last season. The East Playoffs haven't been a coronation for a few years now.

I didn't like Shaq either when I was younger and he was just starting in LA.

You can just feel the rings coming though for James, be honest. ;) I do think the Blazers have a great roster if healthy, and the Celtics are always interesting. I'm wondering if Orlando adds anyone, that would be fascinating as well. If Bynum stays healthy that will be an epic Finals too.

That article should be entitled "Shaq tricks another team into signing him to a deal".

His stats last year were pretty much in line with Przybilla's typical productivity. More scoring, less rebounding and defense, but overall about the same productivity in the same minutes. We've never really had much problem with Joel's contract.

I think most teams would love to pay the veteran's minimum for a center of Shaq/Przybilla quality.

Yes, I see the rings as most likely theirs. In a situation like that, I want to be in one of two situations. Either it is my team and hence i have an established bond and truly enjoy every ounce of their wins. Or, I want to hate them and root for all the underdogs. Since 1) they are not my team, 2) I don't like how they went about the Miami move, 3) I love the concept of an evil empire, I will vigorously root against them.

I am not one of the people who thinks that LJ should not have left Cleavland, or that all three of the players should not have gone to the Heat. From their perspective I understand. I don't like how it was accomplished, and I also just don't care for the pomposity of their process.

But for whatever happened, I will now smile when 29 teams beat them. I hope they stumble and fall. hard. and I hope it hurts. bad.

By the way, how does it feel to now have a ton of "Heat Fans" all over the place when many of them could not name 3 players from last season?

Hey man if you are a long time Heat fan I owe you an apology from another thread. Good on you for staying through the hard years. Fans like you deserve a big three. It's bandwagoners that make me want to puke.

    and my bad!

Dude, I'm a longtime Heat fan as well! They've always been my favorite team. I only jumped on the Blazers bandwagon because they got Oden, but now that he's a bust, I'm focusing on the Heat full time!

Let me cover my tracks by dropping some mad Heat knowledge! My favorite Heat team probably was when they had Steve Smith, Glen Rice, Brian Shaw, and Rony Seikaly back in 91-92. I also enjoyed watching them when they had Zo and T-Bug. I bleed South Beach!!!!!!! ;)
