it's officially official now http://www.nba.com/celtics/news/press_release/press080410-celtics-sign-shaq.html
Looks like he has a better chance than he did against Dale Earnhardt Jr. last night. This is a terrific signing. With Perkins out, we'll need him down low early and when Perkins gets back we can throw Shaq and Perk at Dwight Howard and then Bynum as the Lakers in the Finals is the target for this team. Best part is, Rasheed's contract is still available for us to deal for more depth if we find something worth the money.
I bet they can end up getting Rudy Fernandez for Sheed's contract and a 1st. It would be perfect for Sheed to retire a Blazer, anyway.
Alright, now the Celtics might actually truly get scary. One of the reasons you guys lost to us was because of the rebounding department. This might not be the case next time with Shaq and Jermaine on your side. Good signing.
Shaq adds more muscle and size in the paint; however, he won't make a difference against the Lakers. The Lakers' bigs are fast and tough. Shaq would have to work hard this offseason and get in great shape to even compete on that level.
