Don't know ANYTHING about this guy! Bet he can't shoot the 3 as well as Rudy!

yeah, I'd rather just have an early first round draft pick from NY, if we're not going to get a star point guard.

I'd almost rather have Rudy as a Blazers dancer than to trade him for nothing.

James Johnson is like Travis Outlaw w/o a jumper. He's garbage.

James Johnson is useless! They should pay us extra if we have to take him back!

He seems to have regressed. He only gets play in Summer League, and compare this year's with last year's.

He does have one important skill, though:

(Also, isn't he the one who's a Black Belt is something, along with most of his family?)

I've yet to see Tommy Dee with an accurate rumor about us.

If Chicago offered this, they are dreaming. Damn right he comes with a draft pick.

Apparently, the Knicks are about to sign Roger Mason, and it's because they've just given up on Rudy (because they wouldn't give up a first rounder), which might be being taken as a sign he's going to Chicago.

I have a feeling this will be Zach Randolph (and to a lesser extent, Sergio) all over again: we will be shocked and chastened at how little we can get for a player we actually valued.

Great athlete but no thank you. If that is all we can get out of Rudy then I'd rather let him rot on the bench.

I also don't get the rush. I guess if we think it's the Knicks/Bulls/Celtics or nobody, and the Celts just signed Von Wafer, and the Knicks are about to sign Mason, we might want to jump at Chicago before we run out of options.

So maybe I DO get the rush....

But I agree - it would be better to let Rudy go back to Europe than to get James Johnson for him.

Also, Rudy for Johnson straight up doesn't work financially.

I've been fiddling around with the ol' Trade Machine, and I've come to the conclusion that there isn't really a team that could REALLY USE Rudy. I still think Phoenix would be a match made in heaven, but they seem to think Childress is their backup SG, and they've just signed a guy from their summer league team (and/or Boston's) who is a lot like Rudy (Janning).

In fact, the team that could MOST use him is probably (shudder) the Lakers.

I disagree. I think Boston could use him, they have a huge need for more outside shooting. If Doc Rivers could make Nate Robinson useful, he sure as hell could make Rudy useful.
