Baseball stats were the most important among the pro leagues but with rampant and admitted cheating I don't know if they still have the same meaning anymore.
I don't blame the players for roiding, honestly. The owners knew what was going on, Bud Selig knew what was going on, and they all turned their heads because the steroid era brought baseball back into the limelight. Congratulations to Alex, roids or not, he still had to go out there and hit a ball coming at him anywhere from 80-100 MPH with movement and make solid contact...and stay healthy. Now next thing, he has slowed down this year. Is it just an off year or is age catching up to him? Do you guys think he'll catch Barry Bonds?
I hope he catches Bonds. Bonds was a roid freak, this guy might have used them but not nearly to the extent of Bonds, Sosa and McGwire.
Some jokes were coming out if he would turn out to be the oldest player hitting 600,on the same day he hit 500(a few years ago) he hit 600,I was watching it,took him 6 days to reach 600 from 599 but was it worth it. Congratulations.
I think he catches Bonds. I think he's really just had an off year. He struggled a lot at the beginning of the season and didn't have many HRs through the course of the first couple months. I think he'll still end up with 30 this year, and I think he'll bounce back next year. I still think he's too good of a player to struggle as much as he has throughout a lot of this season.
I don't think he'll catch Bonds. Taking steroids takes a toll on your body and Alex is almost done as a player.
