    I like this part:

Good sign that he thinks he is already close. He has been pretty honest in the past about his conditioning and injury recovery.

Have you had the Mexican flan? It's much better than French flan.

Or how about a nice Creme Brulee? I love Creme Brulee.

Sadly, we've turned out to be more of a souffle than a cake. We're beautiful and tasty, but delicate. So far, we've flopped.

I forget he's only 22. I like what I'm hearing though. Greg doesn't deserve what he's gone through the past 3 years. Just brutal.

If Greg Oden is healthy and utilized effectively by the coach, he's an all-star compared to those other guys. Of that there is no doubt.

It's nice to see Oden admit that he's been immature (and seemingly aloof) at times during his first 3 NBA seasons. That's a big step in taking ownership of past failures. I'm certainly willing to give him the chance to change. Hell, Blazer fans need him to change. Plus, it is a contract year, so he has milliions of reasons to finally get his head on right.

I was hoping he said he sat around since Christmas drinking beer and eating jelly doughnuts.

It's certainly not etched in stone that he has to stay a bust, but let's be real here, he's been the textbook version of the word "bust" so far in his career. There is time to reverse field however, so there's that at least.

With the apple turnover in the front office, things might change for the better.

I disagree. LaRue Martin is the textbook version of the word "bust". Martin was a guy who couldn't play. GO can play. He just needs some health.

There are talentless busts and then there are injury busts. I'm not saying Greg is devoid of talent, but being unable to play, regardless of circumstances, qualifies.

Exactly. Martin had an NBA body with a YMCA head. Bowie was a very skilled player whose body failed him. The effect on the team was the same.

Umm, and shooting. Don't you just cringe anytime he takes a shot from more than two feet out?

Oh, and dribbling. How many times have you seen smaller quicker players strip him as he's trying to make his power move backing in to the basket? Ouch!

    His passing is . . . passable I guess.

Not to be all negatory here, I agree he has amazing potential if he can actually play a season or more.

Well, at least the doctors say he'll be 100% when he's 100% healed! Breaking news!

Talk might be cheap, but from yourposts I'd say Oden pessimism is billable!
