I'm not a Seahawk fan, but that was the only Super Bowl game I saw (I've seen all but 2) that was decided by the refs.
yahoo sports has their writer on this one. http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/blog/sh...-official-admits-to-blown-call?urn=nfl-260901 The game score might have been closer but Seattle defense didn't put a stop to Pittsburgs offense either.
Seattle was running up and down the field on the Steelers until every time they got near redzone a flag would be thrown. Refs kill momentum. They called a chopblock on Hasselbeck after he threw a pick :| Sea Pit First downs 20 14 Total Net Yards 396 339 Rushes-yards 25-137 33-181 One run for 75 yards which should have been called back for holding on offense. Passing 259 158 Punt Returns 4-27 2-32 Kickoff Returns 4-71 2-43 Interceptions Ret. 2-76 1-24 Comp-Att-Int 26-49-1 10-22-2 I think the D did well here! Sacked-Yards Lost 3-14 1-8 Punts 6-50.2 6-48.7 Fumbles-Lost 0-0 0-0 Penalties-Yards 7-70 3-20 Ouch all on crucial plays too! Time of Possession 33:02 26:58
Seattle could have made less big mistakes on both sides of the ball, but it's undeniable they outplayed Pittsburgh and the refs had a hand in the outcome of the game. No doubt at all.
Stern's desire to fuck over Paul Allen knows no bounds... I wouldn't be terribly shocked if #2 was somehow true. The man is a menace.
