Maybe he wanted to be on the ground? He seems like the kind of fighter who would throw his strengths out the window just to show how fucking good he is? I still think he could've clowned Sonnen on the feet, I mean in the 1st round alone he caught two kicks and never followed them up like he did to James Irvin.
