    Brazil named their roster today for the friendly against the US.

    Goalkeepers: Jefferson (Botafogo), Renan (Avai), Victor (Gremio)

    Defenders: Andre Santos (Fenerbahce, Turkey), Daniel Alves (Barcelona, Spain), David Luiz (Benfica, Portugal), Henrique (Racing Santander, Spain), Marcelo (Real Madrid, Spain), Rafael da Silva (Manchester United, England), Rever (Atletico Mineiro), Thiago Silva (AC Milan, Italy)

    Midfielders: Carlos Eduardo (Hoffenheim, Germany), Ederson (Lyon, France), Hernanes (Sao Paulo), Jucilei (Corinthians), Lucas Leiva (Liverpool, England), Paulo Henrique Ganso (Santos), Ramires (Benfica, Portugal), Sandro (Internacional)

    Forwards: Andre (Santos), Neymar (Santos), Alexandre Pato (AC Milan, Italy), Robinho (Santos), Diego Tardelli (Atletico Mineiro)

    Lots of kids on the roster, but still serious competition for the US.

    FIFA.com with an article on Menezes' selections.

    The US roster will be announced next week...not sure who will be announcing it, but it will be announced next week. I'd pretty much expect the World Cup roster with few exceptions. Onyewu might be left in Milan to continue training in hopes of establishing a spot for himself there. If Benny Feilhaber, Jay DeMerit, or DaMarcus Beasley sign with a new team, then I'd expect to see them dropped for the same reason. Bradley would probably add Omar Gonzalez, Heath Pearce, and Alejandro Bedoya to get to 26.

    Bradley will coach the US against Brazil. Talks about his future involvement with the US Soccer federation will start after the match.

    I'm going to stop short of calling this anything resembling a try-out, but if Bradley manages to win this match, there's no way you can't bring him back.

    Here's the USA Roster:

    GOALKEEPERS (2): Brad Guzan (Aston Villa), Tim Howard (Everton)

    DEFENDERS (6): Carlos Bocanegra (Saint-Étienne), Jonathan Bornstein (Chivas USA), Steve Cherundolo (Hannover), Clarence Goodson (IK Start), Chad Marshall (Columbus Crew), Jonathan Spector (West Ham United)

    MIDFIELDERS (7): Alejandro Bedoya (Örebro), Michael Bradley (Borussia Mönchengladbach), Landon Donovan (Los Angeles Galaxy), Maurice Edu (Rangers), Benny Feilhaber (Aarhus), Jermaine Jones (Schalke), Sacha Kljestan (Anderlecht)

    FORWARDS (3): Edson Buddle (Los Angeles Galaxy), Robbie Findley (Real Salt Lake), Herculez Gomez (Pachuca)

    Bedoya, Jones, and Kljestan were the non-World Cuppers to make this squad. No Altidore seems to be an indication that he'll be with a new team and trying to establish himself there, same for Onyewu returning from injury. With that in mind, I'm surprised to see Benny Feilhaber here as he should be running off to a new club as well.

    Altidore and Gonzalez replace Marshall and Jones on the USA roster for Brazil friendly

    A day after releasing the roster for next Tuesday's friendly against Brazil, the U.S. national team made two personnel changes: Omar Gonzalez will replace fellow center back Chad Marshall and forward Jozy Altidore will step in for midfielder Jermaine Jones.

    After weekend matches for many players, the 18-man squad will begin gathering in New Jersey on Sunday and hold its only full training session Monday ahead of the match at the new Meadowlands stadium Tuesday (8 p.m. ET, ESPN2, Univision).

    Jones, who missed last season with Bundesliga club Schalke because of a shin injury, initially accepted the U.S. invitation. However, he and his club didn't think that he would be fully fit for what would likely have been his U.S. debut. The USSF said that Jones will "remain with FC Schalke to prepare for his first competitive matches in more than a year."

    I'm bummed that Jones won't be there, but its probably for the best. He needs to get back with Schalke and his club career back on track before joining the US. I am surprised to see Altidore get the call though. Probably an indication that nothing is happening with the rumored transfers involving him until after this. The Gonzalez call is also interesting as he'd be up for his first cap after a day of training and going into a match against Brazil that may have about 60,000 in the stands. They're really throwing him in there.

    Are you talking about the starters? It will be something like this:

    Victor;
    Daniel Alves, Thiago Silva, David Luiz, André Santos;
    Lucas, Ramires e Ganso;
    Robinho, Neymar, Alexandre Pato.

    Hi brazilian fans! I am proud of this jersey. I am from basketball but my green-yellow heart is also from football. Hey Seleção, I am supporting, towards 2014. We are together!

    The new coach seems to be open to all kinds of experiments. That's th emost likely formation according to local newspapers.

    Full Brazil roster is the first post. The line-up 123 posted was spoted in practice and I've seen it in a few places.
