78 - Ganso, who hasn't really done much for me thus far, finds himself in space again and rockets a shot past Guzan. The post made the save and the ball bounced strongly back out. Goodson cleared for a Brazil throw, which set up Robinho to take a shot from Guzan's right, that went wide.

81 - Robinho exits the match to a standing ovation from the assembled Brazilians and some Americans. Diego Tardelli enters the match. Dani Alves takes over as captain.

83 - Carlos Eduardo was in a spot that was easier to score than miss and Guzan made the save. Carlos Eduardo really had Guzan at his mercy and just couldn't take advantage.

85 - Herculez Gomez nearly acted like this was Mexico by popping up on the end of a cross that was hopeful at best. Header went low, but Victor made the save on what is the only chance of the second half.

87 - Fun stat here. 77k in the stadium tonight making this the 18th US match with 50k or more in attendance since June 2009. I'd like to know how many there were in the year prior, but I'd bet it was far, far fewer.

89 - Ganso leaves, limping a bit, and Jucelei enters.

90 - ESPN grabs the postcard for 2014 with Pato, Neymar, Ganso, and Robinho having a laugh at something (probably the US defense) on the bench.

90+1 - Lots of mohawks up front for Brazil today. Pato doesn't have one, but I think everyone else playing up top did. Neymar's is epic, Robinho and Andre are a bit more subtle.

90+3 - The US have really given up on this one and had since about the 60th it appeared. They were looking pretty slow and listless out there for much of the second half, while Brazil looked like they were out for a training run.

    Match over. 2-0 Brazil.

Nice first game for the new coach and this new generation.

Not much to note from the US here. We just looked pretty bad tonight and there's not much more to say about it. Hard to single out anyone as looking particularly good. Tim Howard and Brad Guzan made a lot of saves and were in good positions, but that's about it.

Bob Bradley might have ended his reign as US manager with this match and he deserved better.

i don't see how that's a problem with altidore. who else do you want them to play it to bornstein? with donovan, feilhaber, and bedoya all off the field(of the guys available for this game), altidore probably is the only option there who has the skills to actually do something with it.

the US controlled the game early and looked like the better team until brazil really got into the game. once that happened, it was all brazil. the US basically had no attack unless they were getting the ball to donovan's feet(which is why he needs to be playing in the midfield so he actually gets more touches on the ball).

the game definitely could have been different had donovan been given either potential penalty, but really, both no calls were probably good.
