Anybody play this game? I started playing it cause it was compared to Metro 2033. I know it's old, but I built my budget gaming rig a little over a year and a half ago, well after it came out. Now there are tons of mods for this game and it appears to live on pretty strong. I just installed STALKER Complete 2009 which should do the trick. Any mod recommendations? Any other games I may have missed in the last three years? I generally like shooters and sports games. Except for the Deathmatch demo, I've never played Half Life 2 for instance. Anyone play Day of Defeat: Source? Peace
STALKER is made by 4A who also did Metro 2033 so yeah, it's similar. SOC was generally well received but I can't say I've played it. If it has the same atmosphere and pacing as Metro 2033 it is probably a decent game or better. For shooters there are a few games you should look into... It is 100% worth your while to pick up an old copy of Orange Box which includes Half-Life 2 as well as the add-on's (Episodes 1 & 2). The game has aged a little but it is arguably the best shooter of all time so it is not something you should miss. Portal is also something that is a must-play if you haven't tried it yet--bonus too since it is also on the Orange Box DVDs. Sticking with the Valve theme you should try Left 4 Dead and the sequel. Both great games.
I have played DoD:S on the PC and it wasn't my cup of tea. I'm sure it was a great game back when it was released.
I swear I have you on my steam already, but we never played the same games. I got a friend request from some dude in Texas and preceeded to kill him in MW2 3 times with friendly fire in one game on Hardcore. Not used to friendly fire I should probably get CS! What games are you playing right now? I'm really into Stalker right now. It's awesome with the COMPLETE 2009 mod installed.
